Jennifer Lawrence: The ‘Joys’ Of Working With David O. Russell And Chris Pratt Affair Rumors

Jennifer Lawrence has once again teamed up with David O. Russell. This time, the Oscar winner is portraying the role of the woman who invented the Miracle Mop in Russell’s film, Joy. It was while Lawrence was filming for the most recent Hunger Games installment that she received a middle-of-the-night call from the notable director who said, as Entertainment Weeklyrelays, “Do you want to play the part of the woman who invented The Miracle Mop?”

JLaw chuckled at the thought of the memory upon considering the role in the late hours, as she shared with the publication about her exchange with Russell.

“I’ve gotten a lot of middle-of-the-night phone calls from David. From that seed he went off into David land and it developed and changed, and now it’s a completely different story. Usually [a film’s focus] is about the fight on the way to success and the happy ending. David goes on to tell the struggle that comes after that, along with all the sacrifices that come with finally getting what you want.”

It’s clear that Jennifer has a true admiration for the director whose most recent films — The Fighter, Silver Linings Playbook, and American Hustle— have all been nominated for Oscars in the category of Best Picture. Russell shared his reasoning behind developing a film based on the character which Lawrence is starring as. EW shares the talented director’s thought process in regards to his latest endeavor.

“[Russell was] intrigued by the idea of doing a film larger in scope: an epic journey examining one woman’s life from age 10 to age 40, as she grows up, gets married, has children, and becomes an entrepreneur and matriarch. ‘It’s a woman’s soul over many decades of her life and how she changes,’ he says.”

After being awarded with a best actress Oscar for her role in Russell’s hit Silver Lining Playbook, it’s no wonder that Jennifer Lawrence has eagerly signed on to star in the director’s latest film. Lawrence’s career is red hot at the moment, with no signs of cooling down.

Unfortunately, with popularity in Hollywood often comes rumors and allegations. A recent rumor involves claims that JLaw had carried on an affair with married funny man and notable actor Chris Pratt. Pratt’s wife, Anna Faris, recently shared how the talk and rumors involving her husband’s infidelity with Jennifer “stung.” The Huffington Post notes the actress’ words.

“I had always kind of believed that part of the rumors of celebrity couples were sort of true because they had never been part of my life. I was like, ‘Oh, maybe there’s a kernel of truth to that.’ [The JLaw rumor] has been a little devastating because for us, it’s like, ‘What the heck?’ This has been blindsiding to us. We have an incredible relationship. It has been weirdly stinging.”

The rumor remains just as it is — a wild and unfounded allegation about Jennifer and Chris while at the top of their game.
