Cassidy Gifford honored her dad with a touching tribute to the late Frank Gifford. Using Instagram to share her memories and mourn her loss, Cassidy recalled both the legend and the father, reported Entertainment Tonight .
Gifford described her dad, who passed away Sunday at 84, as her best friend in her tribute. Cassidy also thanked those who had expressed their support to her family.
“Very few people are blessed enough to call their father a legend, and an even smaller number are able to share that notion with the rest of the world,” penned the 22-year-old actress. “Yesterday, I lost my best friend. His kindness was infectious, and his grace, beyond compare.”

Gifford showed that she shared her dad’s sense of humor in her tribute.
“Despite the worldly passing of an incredible man, I undoubtedly know heaven gained one stud of an angel.”
Cassidy also shares her mother Kathie Lee Gifford’s Christian faith, which she showed in her Biblical quote.
“Philippians 4:13 has never rung so true. You were an unparalleled Giant in all sense of the word, Dad.. So keep doin’ you up there, because no one does it better, and no one ever will,” she added in her tribute.
Kathie Lee quoted the Bible, as well, in her own social media, thanks to everyone who had sent their condolences.
“Deeply grateful to all 4 ur outpouring of grace. We r steadfast in our faith & finding comfort in knowing where Frank is. Phillippians 4:13.”
For Kathie Lee, turning to her faith is key in finding comfort in this time of loss, as the Inquisitr reported.

Gifford’s co-host on Today , Hoda Kotb, cried as she described her friend’s and colleague’s strength despite her loss.
“I was crying and she was holding my hand and she said, ‘let me tell you something, let me tell you what a tragedy is … you know [when young kids with cancer die], that’s a tragedy,’” said Hoda of Kathie Lee’s positive attitude.
And Hoda emphasized that Kathie Lee is using her religious beliefs to comfort her. Although Kotb has cried, her friend wants to see Frank’s passing as a triumph, not a tragedy.
“She said, ‘He built this family. He is a triumph.’ She said, ‘remember that,’ ” Kotb said.
And Cody Gifford also remembered his father, reported People .
“Thank you, everyone,” Cody posted on social media. “#Fighton #liveon.”
The entire family emphasized that their faith in their statement, seeking prayers.
“We rejoice in the extraordinary life he was privileged to live, and we feel grateful and blessed to have been loved by such an amazing human being,” said Gifford’s family. “We ask that our privacy be respected at this difficult time and we thank you for your prayers.”
