Michelle Bachman Now A Swiss Citizen [Video]
Former GOP presidential hopeful Michele Bachman, her husband and their three children are all now citizens of Switzerland. Bachmann’s husband recently applied for Swiss based citizenship in order to gain dual nationality and honor his Swiss heritage.
The approval for dual citizenship was granted in March and under Swiss rules Bachmann and her children automatically gained Swiss citizenship when her husband was approved. According to a Bachmann spokeswoman:
“Some of their children wanted to exercise their eligibility for dual citizenship so they went through the process as a family.”
News of the Swiss citizenship quickly spread and while attending a meeting with a group of Swiss lawmakers in Washington on Tuesday a Swiss television crew asked Mrs. Bachmann if she would ever consider running for office in Switzerland one day. Bachmann’s response was that the competition “would be very stiff because they are very good,” referring to the Swiss delegation.
There could be one bump in the road if Michelle Bachmann ever did decide to run for office in Switzerland, every citizen is required in that country to purchase basic health insurance, something Michelle Bachmann has adamantly opposed under ObamaCare.
Speaking about her husbands heritage Michelle Bachmann told the Swiss television crew:
“My husband is a 100 percent Swiss, and his parents were raised in Switzerland, they were married there, they came to the United States, they bought a farm in Wisconsin and raised their three sons there.”
Here’s the quick interview Bachmann gave to the Swiss TV crew:

Would you mind if the entire Bachmann clan packed up and moved to Switzerland to live out the rest of their lives?
