No, Taylor Swift’s Not Buying A Scottish Castle Any Time Soon
Taylor Swift could build a castle out of all the bricks they throw at her. That’s what the singer said when she took to Twitter to address the rumors that she’s buying a Scottish castle near Calvin Harris and his family.
Swift, 25, took to social media to quash the rumors that claim she has her eye on a castle in Perthshire, Scotland that’s reportedly worth £4.6 million. The beautiful property includes eight bedrooms, seven bathrooms, one heated swimming pool, two tennis courts, and a private 18-hole golf course. Unfortunately, Swift doesn’t have her eye on this beautiful castle yet, but she may now that she’s got wind of it.
The singer and songwriter used her very own lyrics from her track “New Romantics” to slam the rumors in one simple tweet.
Swift tweeted: “Cause baby I could build a castle out of all the bricks they threw at me. But I’m not actually buying a castle.”

She did say that she’s “not actually” buying a castle. Maybe Taylor’s planning on renting it out? Maybe Taylor wants to build her own castle in the country of Scotland.
All kidding aside, the rumors began when several British tabloids said that Swift had her eye on the 40-acre castle that’s nestled an hour away from Edingburgh, where her boyfriend Calvin Harris’ family lives. Even a recent report in OK! Magazine claimed that Taylor wanted to embrace the Scottish lifestyle.
This isn’t the first time that tabloids have claimed that Taylor was buying property near her boyfriend’s. It’s been previously rumored that she bought a house near exes Harry Styles and Connor Kennedy.
Swift addressed the rumors in her 2013 interview with Vanity Fair. The “Bad Blood” singer told the magazine that contrary to popular belief, Swift has no interest in buying houses near her boyfriends or every guy she happens to date.
“People say that about me, that I apparently buy houses near every boy I like—that’s a thing that I apparently do. If I like you I will apparently buy up the real-estate market just to freak you out so you leave me.”
Taylor even addressed the rumors on the Spanish talk show El Hormiguero in January of that same year.
“People say that I’m buying houses all the time that I’m not buying. It’s like… every time the press thinks I like a guy they say I am buying a house next to them.”
The pop star isn’t a stranger to buying hot properties though. Swift has homes in California, Connecticut, New York, and Tennessee. She often uses these homes for entertaining her friends and family, not for being closer to her boyfriends.
Taylor hasn’t yet addressed the rumors about her possible engagement. According to several media outlets, her boyfriend Calvin Harris is planning to propose to the singer in either Nashville, Paris, or Rome, Italy. Neither Taylor nor Harris have yet addressed the engagement rumors.
