CW’s ‘The Flash’ And ‘Arrow’: All About The New Characters For Fall 2015 Premieres
The CW’s Arrow and The Flash are gearing up for new seasons following what has been a successful run for both DC Comics Television Universe shows. With The Flash entering its second season and Arrow its fourth, both are set to include a number of new characters when they return to televisions in the fall.
As far as The Flash is concerned, Collider is reporting that Wally West, or Kid Flash, will be introduced in the new season and will be played by Keiynan Lonsdale. In the comics, West served as a sidekick to Barry Allen and has the same powers as the Flash.
Kid Flash has an interesting history with Barry, and even took over as the Flash after Allen’s death in the comics. Additionally, after Barry returned and took over his old job as the superhuman speedster, DC Comics decided to change West’s outward appearance a little, from a redheaded and pale kid to a biracial younger person who has his very own Flash outfit.
Although details are few concerning how the show is planning on using and portraying West, he will most definitely infuse some youth into the show. Further, West’s introduction into the show should go over well, since the character already has a loyal fan base that is going to be overjoyed when he first makes his appearance. However, the biggest question remaining is whether he’ll be Barry’s sidekick this season, or if he will slowly develop into that role.
In addition to the new characters that are set to appear in The Flash, International Business Times is reporting that Caity Lotz will reprise her part as Sara Lance, or White Canary, in Season 4 of Arrow. This news comes after Lotz’s character was killed off in Season 3, and indicates that she will be brought back to life via the Lazarus Pit.
Although it will be interesting to see how Lotz will shake things up for Team Arrow, creator Marc Guggenheim has not officially addressed the rumors that she will be returning to the show.
Meanwhile, Arrow is also set to introduce a new romantic interest for Thea Queen (Willa Holland). According to TVLine, the new character will be named Alex and will quickly attract the attention of Speedy.
Season 4 of Arrow is set to air October 7, while The Flash will start its second season October 6 on the CW.
