WWE Rumors: Six Matches Now Confirmed For ‘SummerSlam’ — Rumors On Four Other Matches And Stipulations
After weeks of only one match being confirmed, there are now six solidly in place for WWE SummerSlam. Last night’s Monday Night RAW brought about a number of new matches to the card, but it’s not complete yet. With this year’s event being 4 hours long, there are sure to be at least two or three more matches still to come, and some are strongly rumored to come to reality.
The main event is set to be Brock Lesnar taking on The Undertaker in a revenge-grudge match that is over a year in the making. Other matches have been rumored, and this past week, two more were added in Dean Ambrose/Roman Reigns vs. The Wyatt Family and the triple-threat match for the Intercontinental Title.
Three huge matches were confirmed on RAW, and all were expected, but look to be great.
Arrow star Stephen Amell was at RAW last night, and he impressed anyone and everyone that was watching. After months of feuding on Twitter with Stardust, it all came to a head and the match was made — Amell and Neville vs. Stardust and King Barrett.
The tag match was made to not have Amell’s lack of wrestling ability showcased, but he looked good in the ring and was great in his promo with Triple H. What will be fun is if Amell does show up in his Arrow costume at SummerSlam.
The Divas Revolution will continue, as all nine ladies between three teams will battle it out in an elimination tag team match. It will be Team Bella vs. Team BAD vs. PCB to determine which divas reign supreme.
As expected, the WWE Tag Team titles are on the line, but the Prime Time Players will have to defend against three teams, not just one. Los Matadores, The New Day, and the Lucha Dragons will all have a chance to get the gold in what is surely going to be a fast-paced match.
At least four more matches are still rumored for SummerSlam, though, and that’s how WWE has built them up over the past few weeks.
There will be a WWE Title match, and the challenge has already been thrown out there by Seth Rollins to John Cena. The match is sure to be added, and will be a “Winner Takes All” match for both the WWE Title and United States Title.
Last night on RAW, Rusev and Summer Rae destroyed Lana and embarrassed her. Dolph Ziggler will likely be back on Monday and go after Rusev to set up another SummerSlam match. The one question is — will it be a single match or mixed tag?
Two more matches that have been built up are Randy Orton vs. Sheamus and Kevin Owens vs. Cesaro. The former was teased big time last night with Sheamus’ attack on Orton. It would just seem odd if one or both of these matches aren’t added.
One other rumor is not another match, the possibility of a huge stipulation being added onto the main event. It’s being said that a “retirement” stipulation could be added to The Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar, but that also remains to be seen.
SummerSlam is building up to be a huge event, and WWE wants it to be that way which is obvious by the six matches in place. It would not be surprising to see three or four more added on to make many of the rumors come true.
