Jill Duggar/Dillard Moving To Honduras? Ministry Purchases Home To Expand Mission Work
Jill Dillard and husband Derick have finally shared on update on their missionary work in Central America. The Dillard family took to their blog to disclose some of the work they have been doing over the past month. The Dillards revealed that they would be attending a Spanish language school over the next month before returning to the United States for a brief visit in October. Jill Dillard did not reveal what country the young family would be returning to after the visit to Arkansas, however, it appears the family plans to stay in Central America considering the language courses. Will the Dillards return to El Salvador, or is there another country on the list of possible locations?
Though it is possible that the Dillard family will return to El Salvador to the La Esperanza compound, there is another very real possibility for Jill and her family. S.O.S. Ministries, the organization the Dillards have been working under in El Salvador, has revealed that they purchased a home in Honduras for a missionary couple from the El Salvador project. The group says that the new home was purchased as a means to plant fellowship work in the Central American country previously only traveled to by the organization’s El Salvador group. Therefore, it would seem that Honduras is likely the country the Dillards will call “home” for their long-term mission.
“The planting of a fellowship work has been initiated and is growing with the appointment of a missionary couple from the El Salvador mission and the purchase of a home.”
Though S.O.S. Ministries does not name the couple that will be living in the new Honduras ministry home, the Dillards would be a likely candidate as they plan to remain in the missionary field “long-term,” and it appears that Derick Dillard has been working in a leadership capacity while in El Salvador.
This wouldn’t be the first time that the Dillards visited Honduras. In fact, there are photos of Jill in Honduras within the past month with the El Salvador mission group.
Though the Dillards seem to have a plan for a future in the missionary field, the Duggar family back in Arkansas is still coping with the loss of their TLC reality series 19 Kids and Counting. The Duggars have tried a number of ways to earn money from their reality series fame, including requesting donations for the Duggar Studios YouTube page and selling T-shirts.
What do you think of the possibility of Jill and Derick Dillard spearheading the new S.O.S. Ministries project in Honduras? Do you think Honduras is a likely location for the young family to continue their “long-term” missionary work?
