Hilton/Richards Family Desperate To Save Kim Richards Of ‘Real Housewives’

Sisters Kyle Richards, Kathy Hilton, and Kim Richards’ children are scrambling desperately to get help for Kim Richards (formerly of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills) before her cries for help reach a fever-pitch. Family secrets mixed with substance abuse and now shoplifting have caused Kim to spin out of control, forcing the family to consider a 5150 psychiatric hold, like the one used on Britney Spears and Amanda Bynes.

As previously reported in the Inquisitr, Kim Richards’ troubles seem to be mounting after her arrest last weekend for shoplifting from a Target in Van Nuys. She is currently out on $5,000 bail, but is not doing her outpatient care.

But unless a judge forces Kim Richards into psychiatric care, she is not likely to listen to her sisters Kyle Richards or Kathy Hilton, as Kim believes they are a big part of her problems. Kim insists that the Richards family Palm Beach home, now owned exclusively by Kyle Richards, belongs to her, as her mother, known as Big Kathy, was supposed to leave it to just her for caring for her while she was dying. But sadly for Kim (who ranted drunkenly about the house of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills), Big Kathy left it to all three girls.

But Kim Richards’ substance abuse problems might have more to do with Big Kathy than just the inheritance of a house. The book House of Hilton by Jerry Oppenheimer described a strange twist on the child star’s upbringing.

According to the Daily Mail, Kim Richards, Kyle Richards and Kathy Hilton were raised by a mother who drank heavily and insisted they marry wealthy men.

“Many of Kim’s issues can be attributed to her upbringing by a driven, dysfunctional stage mother, the late Kathy Dugan, who drank heavily, had many men in her life, several marriages, and was considered a ‘gold digger’ who demanded that her daughters – Kim, Kathy and Kyle – marry rich men.”

John Jackson, father of Kim Richards’ daughter Kimberly, believes that Big Kathy is at the core of Kim’s substance abuse problems.

“He [John Jackson] told Oppenheimer: ‘She was 100 percent the problem. Kim’s a spitting image of her mother in every way. The amorality, and the drinking, the revolving door of men who she [Kim’s mother] had in her life when Kim was with me, and just the conniving craziness about her, and the way she [Kim] spent money like water. [Kim’s mother] was that typically frustrated mother of a child star who lived through her children.”

So it would seem that Kim Richards’ issues will not be solved by a trip to rehab.
