Captain America: Civil War is still shooting, with the production having moved to Berlin just last week. And the anticipation for the blockbuster is so fervent that news and speculation about the film are instantly devoured by die-hard fans. Which is why you’ll all be desperate to know who might be about to die in Marvel’s upcoming adventure.
Heroic Hollywood has now speculated which character that will be. I must warn you that there are potential spoilers ahead. So if you don’t want Captain America: Civil War to be ruined for you, you probably shouldn’t read ahead.
According to the aforementioned publication, T’Chaka will die in Captain America: Civil War . T’Chaka is the father to the Black Panther, who will get his own Marvel film that will be released in 2018, and it’s been speculated that at some point in Civil War he will perish.
A key character in Marvel comics’ canon, T’Chaka was the Chieftan of Wakanda. Because of this role, T’Chaka was called to a UN meeting, which he refused. This led to him being assassinated by Ulysses Klaw while he tried to protect his wife and child, T’Challa, who later becomes Black Panther. Klaw has already appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, starring in Avengers: Age Of Ultron , where he was portrayed by Andy Serkis.
At this point, it’s still unknown how T’Chaka will die in Civil War . That’s because Serkis himself hasn’t actually been included on the cast list for the third solo Captain America film. However, it would make complete sense if T’Chaka did die in Civil War . That’s because it would be a good catalyst before Chadwick Boseman’s first solo film as Black Panther.
Of course, this rumor has far from been confirmed, and at the moment, it still needs to be taken with a huge dose of salt.
Earlier this year, there was even widespread speculation that Ernie Hudson, who previously appeared in Ghostbusters , was being lined up to star as T’Chaka. Latino Review , via Screen Rant , even speculated that the actor had started to go to the gym and had even been repeatedly reading the Black Panther comics in order to prepare for the role.
Hudson hasn’t been confirmed in the part yet, though. And with Captain America: Civil War’s production well underway, an announcement over who is portraying T’Chaka will need to be made soon.
