Pierce Brosnan Halted At Airport: ‘James Bond’ Actor Carried 10-Inch Hunting Blade In Hand Luggage [Video]

Pierce Brosnan, known for his role as James Bond, was carrying a knife at the wrong time and place. Pierce was halted when he tried to waltz past a Vermont airport security checkpoint, and as a result, police barred Brosnan boarding the plane, reported MSN.

Airport staff informed Burlington Police Department Lt. Shawn Burke about Pierce’s checkpoint problems. Burke revealed that although the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) authorities did halt Brosnan, Pierce then was able to continue on his way.

However, no police report was available, and a TSA agent had no details or knowledge of Brosnan’s knife-carrying problems.

“[Pierce] was encountered by TSA at one of their checkpoints,” confirmed Burke.

The knife carried by Pierce was a 10-inch hunting blade, which Brosnan had in his hand luggage, reported the Telegraph.

The TSA agents discovered the hunting blade when they were screening Pierce’s luggage before he could enter the plane at Vermont’s Burlington International Airport. Brosnan was described as irate and humiliated.

However, the knife ban was implemented as a result of the September 11 attacks. The guidelines specify that blades and other sharp objects can only be taken on an airplane if they are in checked luggage, not hand luggage. That means that sharp objects cannot be carried into plane cabins.

Pierce had to take off his belt as he tried to resolve the issue, and he also addressed the airport authorities about it.

Pierce has played the iconic role of 007 in James Bond films, and IMDB reports that in addition to his salary, Brosnan received the BMW Z3 from GoldenEye (1995), an 8-series BMW from Tomorrow Never Dies (1997), and the Z8 from The World Is Not Enough (1999).

Brosnan, who also starred in Dante’s Peak despite his claustrophobia, was born in Ireland and recently visited there.

Pierce waxed poetic on social media about his visit to his home country.

“Good bye my sweet home of Ireland that I can call you now after all these years abroad a wandering. Soon now soon to long the days with out you soon now soon.”

Brosnan isn’t the only actor to wax poetic and sentimental on social media. As the Inquisitr reported, Vin Diesel welcomed his third child with Paloma Jimenez by quoting one of Louis Armstrong’s most famous songs, “What A Wonderful World.” He also shared a photo of new mom and baby.

“I hear babies crying/ I watch them grow/ They’ll learn much more/ Than I’ll ever know/ And I think to myself /What a wonderful world.”
