‘Weaponized Marijuana’ Gives New Meaning To Killer Weed
As if LSD and PCP weren’t bad enough, a new concoction of herbs and chemicals now coined by police as “weaponized marijuana” is blazing across New York City, prompting direct action by city officials to stop the potentially lethal threat.
Synthetic marijuana, also known as “Spice” and “K-2,” comes in differing strains. As little as $2 can by a small bag of the dangerous compound, making it easy to get. Though a ban on synthetic marijuana in 2012 helped to take most of the weaponized drug off shelves, NYPD officers discovered the killer weed was still being sold in some shops across New York.
A rash of recent hospitalizations, obscene video footage, and deaths involving the synthetic weaponized drug propelled New York officials into action. Stories of weaponized weed run-ins just get crazier. NYPD Commissioner William Bratton revealed crime statistics and video footage of seriously deranged people high on the dangerous synthetic marijuana compound at a press conference on Tuesday according to Reuters. Bratton told reporters as follows.
“The synthetic marijuana issue has been one of great and growing concern here in New York.”
And perhaps rightfully so.
The police have deemed the deadly synthetic compound “weaponized marijuana” for a reason. The killer weed is said to give users unwieldy strength and a very high pain threshold, as well as inducing serious psychosis and psychotic episodes. Videos shown at the press conference reveal the truth of these words. One man was shown in a hysterical rage, punching through a wooden fence before being wrestled down by police.
Incidentally, flashbacks from the Terminator movie come to mind in light of the article by the New YorkPost on the illegal psycho trip drug. In their article about the “weaponized weed,” they described the drug as causing psychotic episodes and raising body temperature. Put plainly, the killer synthetic weed induces some users to take off their clothes and run around in a naked psychotic fit.
Even as city officials are working toward the decriminalization of actual marijuana, according to Bratton, synthetic drug users lured in by the tiny price tag and obvious mental effects have sent NYPD scrambling to find the source of the weaponized version.
“You’re going to see much more of it in the short term.”
Bratton told reporters at the press conference, saying the weaponized weed makes users “utterly crazy.”
