Kevin Bacon Mocks Lack Of Male Nudity By Movie Industry In Hilarious PSA #FreeTheBacon [Video]

Actor Kevin Bacon took a moment to sit down and speak out regarding gender inequality in Hollywood but not in the way most people think. No, Kevin wasn’t addressing disparity in pay, but rather it was the lack of male actors being forced to perform gratuitous nude scenes.

While pay inequality in Hollywood remains a hot button issue, Bacon also points out, in hilarious fashion, that it’s time that men take a stand and drop their drawers for the camera in a movement he is calling #FreeTheBacon.

Bacon begins his fake PSA by making it seem as though it is the men who are being punished by not being allowed to be naked in films, “It’s not fair to actresses and it’s not fair to actors because we want to be naked too,” Kevin insists. Bacon goes on to point out the amount of female nudity in Game of Thrones. “This is an issue of gender equality. Come on. Let me be on the show. I’ll play like a naked wizard or something,” Bacon insists before beginning to list several roles in which he himself “freed the bacon” onscreen.

“Fifty Shades of Grey? I heard you don’t even see it. Why not let Jamie Dornan take off his pants? Or better yet, let me play Christian Grey. We’ll do the whole movie in one long close up of my penis,” Bacon continues to tease. Kevin then starts to tell the producers of the Avengers movies his idea for male nudity as a superhero.

Kevin Bacon has been married to actress Kyra Sedgwick for 27 years, so perhaps his concern for equality in nudity is genuine, but Bacon is also known to be a man of good humor. Last year, Bacon created a mock PSA informing millennials about the ’80s, and Bacon fans created a who’s who of Hollywood game and named it after him, Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon. Kevin also recently signed on to be the spokesman for egg farmers with his “Wake Up with Bacon and Eggs” commercials.

The PSA by Kevin Bacon being released today also seemed to be quite timely as Vines of actor/musician Lenny Kravitz went viral on the internet showing the rocker’s leather pants splitting at the crotch while he was going commando and his…well…”bacon” flopping out during a concert in Sweden.

Perhaps Kevin Bacon’s #FreeTheBacon movement is onto something.
