Is The Richards Family Considering Putting Kim Richards On A 5150 Psychiatric Hold?
The Richards family is reportedly unsure of how to handle the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star’s recent arrest. Two days after Kim Richards was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting at a Van Nuys, California, Target store, the Richards family has remained silent, but on August 4, Radar Online claimed the Richards family may soon place her on a 5150 hold.
“The [Richards family] believes that Kim has three options: 1. She goes back to rehab. 2. She’s put on a 5150 hold. 3. She could end up hospitalized from alcohol poisoning or pill overdose.”
According to the source, the Richards family feels that if Kim goes to rehab (it would be her fourth trip to rehab this year), she’d likely avoid jail time, but at this point, jail isn’t her main problem. Her problem appears to be her ongoing struggles with addiction, which have plagued the reality star for years and led to a number of relapses (as well as her April 16 arrest at the Beverly Hills Hotel for public intoxication) throughout this past year.
While a 5150 psychiatric hold may be a good idea, the Richards family isn’t sure if a hospital “would agree,” nor do they know “how to get her somewhere that would force it upon her.”
The source went on to claim Richards is “penniless,” even after divorcing second husband, a billionaire, with whom she shares two children.
“She sells her part of the house their mom left them to Kyle because she’s broke, then she resents Kyle for it. It is too much for the family to take. Her daughters all married men who are now multi-millionaires; her nieces are MEGA rich – and she’s stealing from Target?? Then blames everyone else? [The Richards family] doesn’t know what to do anymore. It’s incredible.”
In addition, Richards’ ex-husband, Monty Brinson, whom she has lived with for the past year despite their divorce years ago, is currently suffering from cancer and was recently given just weeks to live.
“When Monty [Brinson] dies, forget it. There are fears she’s going to breakdown something awful.”
As the Inquisitr previously reported, the Richards family, including Richards’ sister, Kyle, has remained silent on social media since her arrest. In addition to Kyle remaining offline, their half-sister, Kathy Hilton, has also refrained from making any recent posts. Even Richards’ close friend, Brandi Glanville, has remained silent on the issue, choosing to instead discuss her ex-boyfriend on Twitter.
