Millions Lose Hope On Love: Gwen Stefani And Gavin Rossdale Divorce

It’s been 13 years of bliss for the fans of Bush and No Doubt. Although these bands are of another time, the marriage between Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani has lasted the test of time, until now.

While Will Smith and Jada Pinkett are in the midst of some nasty divorce rumors, Gwen and Gavin are filing legally binding paperwork with the words “irreconcilable differences” plastered in the first paragraph. It’s extremely unfortunate for all of those who believed that super celebrities actually stood a chance of growing old together that they are thoroughly disappointed once again.

No doubt there will be a whole wave of new “Don’t Speak”-ish songs coming out with the new album. Tragic Kingdom was a massive hit for one reason and one alone: heartbreak. The theme throughout their smash hit album was the not-so-public breakup of Gwen Stefani and bassist Tony Kanal. The millions of fans hope that this new parting will be as cordial as her last.

Back before many of us were even born, Gwen and Gavin started dating, as their bands were making waves. 1996 was a good year for music, movies, and apparently love. Six years later, the two were married, and the music world realized that love does, in fact, have a chance. The seemingly blissful marriage has been through a lot. Bands breaking up, albums being released, rumors of selling out, sold-out tours, resentment of a shift in fame, etc.

Gwen recently opened up about their relationship in the March issue of Cosmopolitan, saying as follows.

“We go through so much together — it’s a miracle that we could stay together this long… [Gavin’s] on a short tour right now, and he wrote me the sweetest note this morning. It’s good to have those days when we both do our own things. I think that’s what keeps relationships going, when both people can be themselves and have their own individuality. That’s especially important for women. It’s hard to find time for yourself.”

The divorce will not only affect the parties involved and the millions of adorning fans, but their 3 children. They currently are filing for joint custody of their three sons: Kingston, 8, Zuma, 6, and Apollo, nearly 12 months.

It remains to be seen what kind of effect this will have on their children’s lifestyles, as well as their own. Gwen is known to be chummy with a whole slew of A-listers. Will her mommy rockstar lifestyle be hindered without a partner to help with the kids, or will she embrace her new single life? It has been almost 2 decades since she went out on a date with someone other than Gavin.
