Entertainment ‘Game Of Thrones’ Ending After Season Eight, Season Six Will Be ‘Sick’ [Video] Published on: August 4, 2015 at 7:38 AM By Maat van Uitert Popular series Game Of Thrones is ending after season eight, HBO President Michael Lombardo announced at a Television Critics Association press tour conference in Beverly Hills. According to The Mirror , the producers feel Game of Thrones will naturally come to an end after season eight.”I think seven seasons and out has never been the conversation; the question is how much beyond the seventh…are we going to do,” Lombardo said at the conference, confirming the show will last through season eight. “[The producers are] feeling like there’s probably two more years after six. I would love for them to change their minds, but [eight is] what we’re looking at right now.” Although the show is expected to last through season eight, author George R.R. Martin, whose book series provides the basis for the Game Of Thrones television series , has only planned seven books in his series, reports Us Weekly . Season six of Game of Thrones is expected to be “sick,” according to one of its major stars. As previously reported by the Inquisitr , Ian McShane will join the Game of Thrones cast in season six, although his role is being kept secret. McShane starred in the popular HBO series Deadwood, and was a fan favorite when playing the character of Al Swearengen . Emilia Clarke, who stars as Daenerys Targaryen in Game Of Thrones, gave fans a glimpse of season six of Game Of Thrones, and has fans waiting with baited breath for the new season. According to The Mirror , “what she has seen of Westros’ sexy, bloody and violent future has left her desperate to reprise her role as the Mother of Dragons.” “I’ve seen some of the new scripts and I’m like a kid on a sugar high. I can’t handle how sick some of them are. We’re just going to hit the audience with every episode, coming up with something more mental that the last. I can’t believe some of the twists in store.” Clarke revealed in a recent interview that she will be happy to be back on the Game Of Thrones set after starring as Sarah Connor in Terminator Genisys with Arnold Schwarzenegger. Used to the CGI effects in Game Of Thrones, Clarke wasn’t used to doing her own stunts. “I’m gonna sound like an idiot, but when you’re watching an action movie and you’re like, ‘Oh cool, special effects.’ Then you’re doing it and you’re like, ‘Oh. I actually run. I actually fire the guns and I run, brilliant, OK, I should probably get better at running.’” It’s not revealed if Clarke’s character in Game Of Thrones will last until season eight, however.
