‘RHOBH’ Star Kim Richards Arrested For Shoplifting

Trouble seems to be following Kim Richards wherever she goes these days. Kim was seen in a downward spiral in the earlier seasons of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, as she struggled with her alcoholism. She got her act together, as we’ve seen for a few seasons, but relapsed earlier this year.

Kim spent time in rehab, and as the Inquisitr reported last month, she is begging the producers of Real Housewives to let her have her job back and appear in the show’s upcoming Season 6, which has already started filming.

Now, Kim Richards’ name is back in the headlines, as the reality TV star was arrested after allegedly shoplifting on Sunday afternoon. According to ET Online, on August 2 at 4:25 p.m., Kim was placed under citizen’s arrest. Richards spent the night at the Van Nuys Police Department, was charged with a misdemeanor, and was released on $5,000 bail the following afternoon.

A report from TMZ claims that Kim Richards was caught by a security guard at the San Fernando Valley branch of Target when she tried to walk off with items “worth more than $600.”

Kim Richards has yet to respond to the allegations following her arrest on Sunday night. Her ex-husband, Monty Brinson, however, offered his views on the issue.

“I couldn’t imagine Kim stealing or shoplifting anything. She is a giver. I am in complete shock. Guaranteed this must be some kind of mistake, and the facts will come out soon. She was arrested for shoplifting toys in a cart, but this was a clear misunderstanding. This was not alcohol or drug related.”

Kim Richards already addressed her previous arrest at the Beverly Hills Hotel, admitting that she relapsed after years of sobriety. She blamed stress for her actions, as she is juggling so many things at home. As many of you already know, Kim is taking care of Brinson, as he is currently battling cancer. She also had issues with her beloved dog, Kingsley, wherein she was sued by a neighbor the dog attacked.

Richards has since then completed her treatment, and said that she needed time to work on herself.

“I dug deep into my past – things that happened to me as a child, good and bad, teenage years, relationships with all my loved ones, where they need to be mended, where they’re very powerful. I worked on me.”

“My arrest was my ‘a-ha I get to get away now and rest and take a break from all this.'”
