Wireless Headphones: Motorola, Samsung, Plantronics Compete With Latest Releases

Wireless headphones are necessary for students of all ages. In fact, it’s become a requirement on most school supply lists. Now three major tech companies are coming out with their own version of the traditional wireless headphones.

Plantronics has released the BackBeat SENSE headphones that are designed for both non-students and students. These wireless headphones are also perfect for those who don’t want to spend hundreds of dollars for quality headphones.

According to a report via ChipChick, the BackBeat SENSE headphones are smaller and lighter than the company’s BackBeat Pro headphones. That’s because Plantronics has implemented memory foam ear cups and distributed less weight in the headband, so it doesn’t weigh you down. The SENSE headphones work double-duty as a headset, with dual microphones for making voice commands or voice calls through your computer.

These wireless headphones are available in stores and online in black/espresso or white/tan and retail at $180. However, they won’t be available until late August or early September.

Those who might find the Plantronics BackBeat SENSE headphones a bit large and in charge may like Samsung’s Level U Headphones instead. These lightweight earphones offer crisp audio and make up in body and bass where the SENSE headphones lack. The Level U is compatible with almost any Bluetooth device and smartphone, including the iPhone.

Though Samsung’s Level U headphones aren’t marketed for working out, they work perfectly for runners and fitness lovers. These headphones are available in white or black sapphire and retail for $69.99.

Motorola has stepped up its game with two new wireless headphones that retail for $59.99 and $69.99. The Moto Pulse and Moto Surround may be a good option for someone who’s looking for an attractive pair of wireless headphones.

The Moto Pulse features the classic on-ear headphones that are marketed towards Beats lovers who don’t want to spend hundreds on new headphones. It includes features like 40mm speaker drivers, a 60-foot wireless range, and 18-hours of battery life on a single charge.

The Moto Surround are the perfect pair of wireless headphones to wear at the gym, since they’re both sweatproof and waterproof. Motorola also promises that these headphones provide a high-quality sound and bass.

Both of Motorola’s new wireless headphones allows you make voice calls, and are compatible with iOS and Android devices. Both are also compatible with the new Motorola Connect app, which allows you to track your headphones’ battery life from your voice. You can also track your headphones via Google Maps in case you lose them. These wireless headphones are only available at the Motorola website.

With choices like these, it’s going to be hard for students to decide which wireless headphones to buy for the back-to-school season.
