What’s Next For Jill Dillard With El Salvador Mission Ending Tomorrow? Dillards, Duggars Remain Silent

The Duggar family said goodbye to daughter Jill Dillard on July 5 after spending the weekend celebrating Fourth of July with the young family. Jill and husband Derick, with baby Israel in tow, left for a “long-term” mission in El Salvador with the S.O.S. Ministries. However, the initial month-long missionary team that the Dillards arrived with in Central America is scheduled to leave El Salvador tomorrow. Will the Dillards be leaving El Salvador with them?

The Dillard Family blog notes that Jill and Derick Dillard setup a non-profit organization called the Dillard Family Ministries before leaving and requested tax-deductible donations to help support their cause. However, the Dillard family never fully disclosed the intended purpose of the donations or exactly where the family planned to spend their entire “long-term” missionary work. In fact, when Derick announced the new ministry he simply noted that “God has put a desire in our hearts to serve Him internationally for longer than the typical short-term mission trip.” In the most recent post to the family’s blog, Derick says that the donations have helped make the transition to El Salvador as “smooth” as possible for the family.

“We cannot express enough gratitude for the ways God has been working through so many of you to make this transition for our family as smooth as possible. God has used you all to bless us and to make our vision a reality for those who have yet to put their faith in Jesus Christ, who is our only hope for salvation.”

Though some initially questioned the legitimacy of the non-profit status of the Dillard family’s organization, the IRS confirmed that the ministry was not initially added to the IRS exempt organizations database by accident. Since it was pointed out, the Dillard Family Ministries has been added to the IRS database and those wanting to donate can rest assured that their contribution is tax-deductible.

Dillard Family Ministries Tax Deductible Status

As the Inquisitr previously pointed out, Jill and Derick Dillard arrived to El Salvador on July 5, 2015, as part of the S.O.S. Ministries. The duo began their work with the “summer mission” group that was scheduled for a “longer than normal” mission in El Salvador. However, the summer group is scheduled to leave the country tomorrow as their work in the area is finished. Therefore, many are wondering what is next for the Dillard family.

With the Dillard and Duggar family remaining silent on the missionary work status, it is unknown at this time if Jill and Derick will be returning or staying in Central America after the mission ends. Since leaving for their missionary work, Jill has went silent on her social media account, only taking time to post a congratulatory message to her cousin Amy on her recent engagement. In fact, the Dillard and Duggar families have not shared a single photo from the mission work the Dillards have done while in El Salvador.

Despite the Duggar’s silence on the matter, a couple photos of the Dillards in El Salvador have surfaced from others in the organization.

With the current mission project coming to a close, the Dillards may opt to stay in El Salvador and prepare for the next batch of missionaries. Another possibility is that Derick was simply learning from the leadership at S.O.S. Ministries and may be planning his own Dillard Family Ministries projects in the area.

What do you think? Will the Dillards return with the rest of the missionaries from El Salvador or will the stay in the region for the long-haul?
