Lea Michele is a huge TV junkie, and she’s not afraid to admit it. While Scream Queens may be her bread and butter, Ms. Michele reveals that reality television is a really big draw for her and that some shows really keep her attention more than the fictitious drama of shows like Scream Queens . Lea says that she finds dating shows to be the most exciting of all.
Ms.Michele may not be a big fan of The Bachelorette, but Ms. Michele is addicted to UnREAL , a show that parodies the The Bachelorette and other dating reality shows.
“My new obsession? Are you watching UnREAL ,” asked 28-year-old Lea Michele. “I texted Shiri Appleby last night and I’m like, ‘Ummm, so you need to win like an Academy Award.’ She is so good!”
Lea confesses that she actually was a huge fan of The Bachelorette and never missed an episode until Ms. Michele was introduced to UnREAL by her Scream Queens co-star.
“It’s switched me,” Lea revealed. “I’m less obsessed with T he Bachelorette and I’m more obsessed with UnREAL. Emma [Roberts] told me about it. She was like, ‘You have to watch it!’”
UnREAL isn’t the only show to draw Lea’s attention during the summer season. Ms. Michele admits she’s also fascinated by intrigued by a more risque show.
“Right now, I love Naked and Afraid ,” the Scream Queens star confessed. “I’m embarrassed. It’s so good.”
Once Lea started to think about it, she couldn’t stop talking about her favorite shows. Ms. Michele was soon rolling out the list of her favorite reality shows, gushing over the Real Housewives franchise .
“Obviously, my Housewives ,” Lea said. “Right now, I’m watching New York and OC. Love my girl Carole! Carole Radziwill! — she’s my girl, so I’ve got to watch her and support her! That’s my excuse. Ugh, it’s like amazing.”
Of course, Ms. Michele was then left to dwell on her love of cooking shows and for one cooking show’s host in particular. It seems Lea has a crush.
“Oh, and Food Network. Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives ,” said Ms. Michele. “I think I would cry if I met Guy Fieri. Not Meryl Streep… Guy Fieri would be like, I would die I would be so happy.”
For Lea, watching television isn’t just about entertainment. Lea Michele finds inspiration in so many places and from so many actresses.
“A lot inspires me! I’m always inspired by people that I look up into this industry,” admitted Lea Michele. “I look at, like, Jessica Alba and Kate Hudson, who are great actresses and such beautiful women and great mothers, and yet they created these great brands that are really healthy and empowering — Kate with Fabletics and Jessica with Honest Co. That’s really inspiring to me.”
