L.A. Lakers Rumors: Team Wants Carlos Boozer And Another Big Man, But Have Competition From Knicks And Cavaliers
The 2015 NBA free agency is really beginning to drag now, but there are still a number of players out on the market. The L.A. Lakers still have interest in bringing in at least one more big man since there is an open roster spot remaining. Sights have been set on Carlos Boozer and Kevin Seraphin, but there is going to be some competition for either man from teams such as the New York Knicks and Cleveland Cavaliers.
According to Fansided, the Lakers are looking to bring back free agent Carlos Boozer, but there is a lot more competition for him now. At least three other teams are interested in bringing in Boozer for some help under the basket.

At this point in free agency, some believe that the Lakers would have already made a bigger play to sign Carlos Boozer if they were going to have him on the team. It seems as if the Knicks may be the top possibility to sign him and give some more help to Carmelo Anthony, at least for the short term.
Fox Sports comes down hard on the defensive skills of Boozer, but know that the Rockets would still like to sign him for his size and rebounding ability.
On another note, the Knicks are looking to interfere on some of the L.A. Lakers’ plans in another way too.
Ever since free agency started, the Lakers have been attached to rumors of signing former Washington Wizards free agent Kevin Seraphin. Now, the Knicks are also looking to possibly sign the big veteran who can help any team defensively and off the bench.
Last season, the Knicks ranked 29th in total rebounds per game, and Phil Jackson brought back Robin Lopez, but they need more. Kevin Seraphin would provide good depth for the Knicks and instantly up their rebounding stats.
Los Angeles’ acquisition of Roy Hibbert will greatly help Julius Randle since he’s only entering his second year in the NBA. Unfortunately, the Lakers missed out on getting LaMarcus Aldridge, DeMarcus Cousins, DeAndre Jordan, and Brendan Haywood so one more big man down low wouldn’t be a bad thing.
The L.A. Lakers are continuing to try and make moves that will help the team now, even if Kobe Bryant doesn’t seem thrilled with all of them. Re-signing Carlos Boozer or being able to land Kevin Seraphin may put the final touches on an active offseason.
