Kanye West And Janet Jackson Announced For iHeartRadio Music Festival: Fans Petition Against West Performing
Kanye West and Janet Jackson are the two most talked about performers at this year’s iHeartRadio Music Festival. Billboard announced the festival on Thursday morning.
“Kanye West, Sam Smith, The Who and Janet Jackson will top the 2015 iHeartRadio Music Festival lineup, which was released on Thursday (July 30) ahead of the Las Vegas pop extravaganza’s fifth year. iHeartRadio Fest will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Sept. 18 and 19.”
While most of the performers are generating excitement, there is one who people don’t want to see: Kanye West. He’s probably used to it by now. He is probably wondering if another petition against him is being produced. Well, Kanye West doesn’t need to wonder any longer because iHeartRadio Music Festival fans have started a petition against him on Change.org. The mission statement is pretty mean.
“The iHeart Music Festival is a musically prestigious event that Kanye West doesn’t belong in. West not only has a complete lack of musical talent, but his behavior is despicable. We will make sure advertisers for this event are boycotted if Kanye West ends up being part of the festival.”
After only a couple hours, the petition gained almost 30 signatures. Some of those who signed the petition were very harsh towards West.
“Why do these festivals let an egomaniac like Kanye West perform when it is clear that he is the most hated human on this earth. He is a horrific and vile person. I will boycott all advertisers if he plays!” screamed Aaron Lopez of Los Angeles, California.
“Kanye West is the biggest insult to any kind of music. He is also a horrible human being,” said Jackson Young of Meridian, Mississippi.
Most of the people signing so far seem to have more of a problem with Kanye West’s behavior than his actual talent. Still, they are angry and don’t want Kanye West to perform. This isn’t the first time music fans submitted a petition to stop Kanye from playing a music festival. Over 130,000 people signed a petition to stop him from playing at the Glastonbury festival earlier in June. Thousands also signed a petition to stop West from closing the ceremonies at the Pan Am Games, but he ended up playing and received excellent reviews.
