Ben Affleck: Rumor Of Affair With Nanny Christine Ouzounian Is Garbage, Magazine Reporting It May Face Lawsuit
Ben Affleck said rumors of an affair with nanny Christine Ouzounian are “garbage,” and the actor now could be planning to go to court to defend himself against the reports.
The report of an affair with Ouzounian originally came from Us Weekly, which claimed that Affleck and the nanny have started a relationship. The magazine included pictures of the 42-year-old actor with the 28-year-old nanny and claimed their relationship started before Affleck and Jennifer Garner announced their split.
When Ouzounian — an employee at a high-end Beverly Hills nanny agency — first started caring for Violet, 9, Seraphina, 6, and Samuel, 3, Affleck and Garner, 43, were in the midst of a secret 10-month trial separation. The Arizona State University communications grad soon developed an attraction to the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice star.
The report claims that Jennifer Garner fired the nanny when she learned of her relationship with Affleck, but sources said the two stayed in contact.
“She says Ben really, really likes her,” the magazine quoted a reported friend of Christine Ouzounian. “She’s saying this is true love.”
Now Ben Affleck is coming out firing against the nanny reports, saying through a rep that the story is “complete garbage and full of lies.”
“This is a false and baseless story based on innocuous photos, and we’re looking at pursuing legal action,” the rep told the Los Angeles Times.
Affleck’s rep added that Us Weekly doesn’t have any credibility with its report, which relies on unnamed sources.
“You shouldn’t be able to hide behind ‘blind sources’ and attempt to destroy families going through a difficult time,” Affleck’s rep added. “It’s like story time in kindergarten.”
Despite many reports that he was unfaithful, Ben Affleck has strongly denied cheating on Jennifer Garner. Some close to the couple claim that the split was simply the result of growing differences between the couple.
“Saying he’s a bad father and a husband is an easy story, and everyone has wanted to clock him as a womanizer and gambler,” an unnamed source told People magazine. “He couldn’t deal with her expectations. When you’re told you’re not good enough, you start to believe it.”
Ben Affleck and the nanny story he called “garbage” are not the time Us Weekly has been in the midst of a controversial story. Back in April, the celebrity news outlet was on the other side when (then) Bruce Jenner told the magazine he was considering suing several media outlets who published a picture of him wearing a dress outside his home. The photo was taken with a long-shot lens from as much as a mile away, which Jenner called an invasion of his privacy.
