#SamDubose Trends On Twitter: Graphic Body Cam Video Footage Of Sam Dubose Being Shot And Killed [Video]
According to Twitter, the hashtag #SamDubose is a top trending item. That’s because the official body cam video has been released on July 29, showing Sam Dubose getting shot and killed. It was a police officer named Ray Tensing who pulled over Dubose — also known as Samuel — on July 19, because he didn’t have a front license plate on his car.
Now, the University of Cincinnati cop has been indicted by a Hamilton County grand jury because of Ray’s actions that day. Initially, Tensing asks Sam if he has a driver’s license. Dubose goes back and forth with Ray, saying that he does have a driver’s license and that if the officer would run his name, he’d discover that Dubose has a license. Tensing extracts a bottle out of the car, which Dubose calls air freshener, as Sam fumbles around in his glove compartment and in his pockets to look for the driver’s license. Eventually, Dubose admits that he doesn’t have a driver’s license on him, but tells Tensing that his license isn’t suspended.
Warning: This video is graphic and disturbing.
As Tensing tries to open Sam’s driver’s side door and asks him to step out, Dubose begins to try and close the door. The action quickly changes to a shooting death when Officer Ray commands Dubose to stop what he’s doing and suddenly fires one shot, shooting Sam in the head.
“I thought he was going to run me over.”
The body cam footage then becomes jangled as Tensing runs after Dubose’s car, which comes to a stop down the block after hitting a pole. From Tensing’s body cam video, Dubose can be seen slumped to the side with a gunshot wound to the head in the graphic video footage.
The amount of tweets coming in under the #SamDubose hashtag are up to 223,000 or more as of this writing, with reactions to the shocking video.
Dubose’s mother, Audrey Dubose, spoke out about forgiveness towards Tensing, as reported by Mother Jones.
The body cam video of Dubose is making the rounds on sites like WLWT Cincinnati? — which noted that it chose to post the full video, unedited, in its entirety.
As reported by the Inquisitr, the video of Sam being shot and killed was called “not good” by those who’d seen it prior to it being released to the public. The video of Dubose was also called so bad that riots were feared in Cincinnati.
