Season 10 of the Real Housewives of Orange County has seen a departure from the typical reality series formula the show has used in previous seasons. From a birth in one family to a death in another, to one couple’s marriage problems, this season has featured a number of events closer to reality, which is something Heather Dubrow has welcomed.
In terms of how the show has changed this season, Dubrow recently sat down with E! Online and discussed the show’s change of focus away from trivial drama issues.
“I think what’s great about the show this year, as opposed to previous seasons where I feel like there was a lot of petty drama—from myself as well, you know, ‘Who’s sitting in my chair?’ and that kind of nonsense—but, this year I think you’re really seeing everyone’s real relationship struggles, no matter what they are, at all different levels… But it’s all real.”
Along with the birth of Tamra Judge’s new granddaughter and Vicki Gunvalson finding out about the death of her mother , this season of the Real Housewives of Orange County featured Shannon Beador openly dealing with the affair her husband was having. “I think, the truth is, they’ll end up helping a lot of people and show how you can come out the other side,” Dubrow stated in regards to her co-star Beador.
Meanwhile, as the show moves forward, the cast members are set for a drama-filled trip to Tahiti. Although fans can be assured that there will be plenty of drama throughout the trip, Dubrow also teased that something unexpected would happen.
“It’s an interesting journey… By the end, things definitely take an odd twist.”
At the same time, during the trip, you will also see Gunvalson and Meghan King Edmonds arguing about the merits of spending money that’s not really yours to spend. In one of the promo videos, courtesy of CarterMatt , the two are shown in a jewelry store, where Gunvalson and Edmonds start an argument.
The two reality stars discuss getting a real job and not just spending the money provided by a significant other. Gunvalson then asks the camera what Edmonds is going to do after her husband moves on to a fourth wife. Edmonds, meanwhile, states that she thinks Gunvalson is just jealous of her situation. (Which to be honest, all of the ladies seem to be somewhat jealous of Gunvalson, considering they refer to her significantly younger age multiple times each episode.)
Gunvalson and Edmonds are not done arguing yet — in the preview for next week’s episode, all of the ladies take offense when Edmonds opens up about how much she cares for her step-daughter.
