TNA Spoilers: Global Force Wrestling Invades, New Authority Figure, New King of the Mountain Champion
For months, there has been a lot of upside-down turmoil in TNA Impact Wrestling, and start-up excitement in Global Force Wrestling. One big connection has been Jeff Jarrett, and many began to wonder if there was some sort of invasion angle coming between the two companies. Well, the spoilers from tonight’s taping showed that is exactly what happened, and a new King of the Mountain champion was crowned, as well.
Please note that the following information contains many SPOILERS for upcoming episodes of TNA Impact Wrestling. If you don’t want to know, please stop reading now.
According to TNA Insider, Jeff Jarrett actually started out the night at the TNA Impact taping by coming out to the ring. He was accompanied by some members of Global Force Wrestling, and he said that his time with TNA has come to an end.
Jarrett is going to vacate the King of the Mountain title, and it will be up for grabs in a GFW vs. TNA tournament. TNA stars would have to win qualifying matches to compete for the title.
Along with the mini-tournament leading up to the TNA vs. GFW King of the Mountain match, there were other cross-promotional matches, as well. Awesome Kong took on Lei’D Tapa in a match that ended in a double count-out.
Bobby Roode, the former TNA star, absolutely destroyed Rockstar Spud in a squash. Roode says he was angry for ending the career of his tag-team partner, Austin Aries.
Other matches took place at the taping, and it all led to the main event, which was the TNA vs. GFW match for the King of the Mountain title. When all was said and done, PJ Black defeated Chris Masters, Bobby Lashely, Eric Young, and Robbie E to take the championship.
For those not aware, PJ Black is formerly known as Justin Gabriel, and he is famously known for quitting WWE before the Royal Rumble earlier this year.
After Black won the title, Jeff Jarrett came back out and was revealed as the new “authority figure” in TNA. Yes, that’s the spot that was recently given to Bully Ray, but he only had it for one night before quitting the promotion entirely.
Jarrett said that he is now in control of both TNA and GFW, and he announced that Ethan Carter III must defend his TNA World Heavyweight Title against GFW’s PJ Black. Karen Jarrett said that if EC3 doesn’t defend his title, he will have it stripped from him.
There’s no telling just how far or how long this invasion angle will go between Global Force Wrestling and TNA. For now, though, Jeff Jarrett is in charge, and it looks like a partnership has been struck.
