John Green Considers Taylor Swift For ‘Looking In Alaska’ Movie Adaptation
Taylor Swift is many things these days. She’s a current pop artist and a former country artist. Not only does she dance, but she also writes her own songs. To her fans, she’s become sort of a style icon, and now a recent clothing designer. Now it looks like Taylor may also add actress to her resume.
Taylor Swift previously expressed that she loves John Green’s book adaptations. Last week, she took to Twitter to exclaim: “John Green is my favorite writer and [Cara Delevingne], [Halston Sage], [and Nat Wolff] are some of my favorite people. Can’t WAIT to see Paper Towns!”
Now it looks like Swift may star in the next John Green film. When asked who he would like to see star in the upcoming film adaptation of his first book, Looking for Alaska, Green had one singer in mind. He thinks that Swift would perfectly portray the “male hip-hop enthusiast with mad rapping skills,” as previously noted via Seventeen Magazine.
“She’d be a great Takumi. She’d be great as The Colonel. It could be one of those movies where Taylor Swift plays every character, just in a different outfit…like ‘Austin Powers.’ Starring Taylor Swift, AND Taylor Swift. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for that.”
John would take the chance to cast Taylor if he could, but at the end of the day, it’s not his call.
“It’s not my decision who to cast. I do like Taylor Swift a lot, I’m a big Taylor Swift fan.”
It wouldn’t be the first time that the “Bad Blood” singer has dipped her hand in the acting pool. According to her acting IMDB profile, Swift previously played Rosemary in The Giver (2014), Elaine in New Girl (2013), and Felicia in Valentine’s Day (2010). Swift also lent her voice to the character of Audrey in The Lorax (2012) and had a small roll on an episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (2009).

Taylor also played different characters in her music video. She most recently played the role of “Catastrophe” in her infamous “Bad Blood” video. She also played the roles of Juliet in “Love Story” and both the popular cheerleader and studios band member in “You Belong With Me.”
Not to mention, Swift has played in several short skits on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, Saturday Night Live and The Ellen Show. She has proven that not only she has a funny bone, but she can take on the role of someone else, if given the chance.
It’s not Taylor Swift’s acting experience that’s questionable, it’s whether or not she can act that’s the question. What are your thoughts on Swift starring in a John Green film? Do you think she would be the perfect choice for Living in Alaska? Share your thoughts below in the comments section.
