Taylor Swift Accused Of Being ‘Mean’ And ‘Calculated’ By Grizzly Bear Singer
Taylor Swift is one of the best-selling artists of all time and is quite possibly one of the nicest singers around, but it looks like the tides are changing. Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj may be fine, but it sounds like other musicians are changing their opinion of her.
On Sunday night, Grizzly Bear singer Ed Droste hinted about his thoughts on Taylor Swift. He also included a photo of an article inside a tabloid titled “Mean Girl Taylor Swift’s Friendship Rules!”
The article goes on to explain that Swift has a list of diva demands for her 1989 World Tour, including not dressing better than the singer and not speaking to her unless being spoken to first.

When the indie-rock singer was asked by a fan if he was the source for the magazine article, Ed responded, “I have a whole other story to tell, still feels unsafe tho. She frightens me genuinely.”

This isn’t the first time that the musician has spoken out about his experience with meeting Taylor Swift. Back in February, Edward wrote a series of tweets, which he later confirmed were about Taylor. Although it was obvious as to who he was talking about, he claimed that he was deathly afraid of mentioning Taylor’s name on Twitter.
“Met a celebrity I always speculated was terribly calculated and mean, and they exceeded all my expectations of rudeness and arrogance. HATE. If you know please don’t @ the person, they see all and have the capacity and desire to destroy, seriously, please just known and lol… This is an eternal blind item, bc I’m too petrified of their insane power. No need to speculate just HAD to voice my disgust.”
This isn’t the first time that the singer has been slammed. Just last week, Gawker published the following article “Taylor Swift Is Not Your Friend,” explaining that allowing her friends on stage during her concerts is some kind of “Swiftian performance art.”
Salon had a field day early last week when Swift found herself in a feud with Nicki Minaj. The news site published an article that explained five times that Swift has “embarrassed herself” over the years. Contributor Anna Silman accused the singer of never addressing LGBT issues, sex positivity, intersectionality in feminism, and cultural appropriation in her music video for “Shake It Off.”
Now it looks like the media is shifting on the singer, as well. Tabloids continue to publish articles about Taylor’s alleged diva demands and her feuds with her female friends. Whether or not these stories are true, it still shows that she’s receiving quite a bit of backlash from the media lately, which is unusual for the usually sweet singer.
Taylor Swift has not yet responded to any of the backlash she received, even to Ed Droste’s indirect tweets. What are your thoughts on all the backlash? Do you think the tides are turning against Swift? Share your thoughts below in the comments section.
