Jordan Spieth Turns 22: Five-Time PGA Winner Wears Chicken Hat To Celebrate 22nd Birthday
Jordan Spieth turns 22 on Monday, July 27. The pro-golfer has had quite the career so far, with 77 PGA Tour starts, five wins, two majors, and four major top 10 finishes, according to CBS Sports. He may be young, but his impressive career has netted him over $17 million. So how did the young stud celebrate his birthday? With his family, of course.
Jordan’s mom, Christine, posted a photo of her son with his sister, both wearing chicken hats while out to dinner.

According to dbTechno, Jordan Spieth is very close to his sister, Ellie.
“Growing up with Ellie has helped Jordan and Steven both have that quality of not being self-centered. In sports, there are certainly some benefits to having everyone and everything focused on you. It can help get you there faster, and usually that’s what it takes to be the very best at anything. But it can also be harmful. Over a long career, I think balance and perspective, more times than not, will make you happier, whether you end up being the very best or not. If Jordan doesn’t ever become No. 1, he’ll know that’s only a piece of life, not all of life,” said their father, Shawn.
As Jordan Spieth turns 22, there was a comparison made between him and Tiger Woods when Woods was that age. Spieth has a lot more under his belt, but, as CBS Sports points out, that’s really because Woods didn’t go pro until he was just about 21.
“On his 22nd birthday, Tiger Woods had 29 PGA Tour starts, six wins, a major and one major top 10 finish. Those numbers are all as a professional. He’d made $2.9 million.”
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Spieth was set to compete in the final round of the 144th Open Championship last Monday. On Sunday, he was only one shot behind Jason Day and was 11-under par. He was scheduled to tee off second to last on Monday afternoon, but couldn’t pull out a win. The winner was Zach Johnson. Spieth congratulated him on social media.
Wow.. Almost. Nothing quite like @TheOpen at St Andrews. We fought hard. Very proud of a role model and friend of mine @ZachJohnsonPGA
