WWE News: Arnold Schwarzenegger To Be Playable Character In WWE 2K16
It’s been said before, but WWE 2K16 is shaping up to be the deepest WWE video game to date. More than enough popular WWE superstars have already been announced for the game including Finn Balor, Dean Ambrose, Paige and Stone Cold Steve Austin. The WWE just added a worldwide celebrity to its award-winning gaming franchise.
According to IGN.com, the Terminator, Arnold Schwarzenegger will be a playable character in WWE 2K16.
“According to a press release from publisher 2K, Arnold will represent two playable T-800s – one from the original 1984 film, and another from 1991’s Terminator 2: Judgement Day. Both will be available exclusively to those who pre-order WWE 2K16 from retailers such as Gamestop, Amazon, or any other major retailer accepting pre-orders.”
Here’s the video that accompanies the huge announcement from WWE:
In just 48 hours, WWE 2K16 fans lost a great wrestler and a huge celebrity. As it was announced in an earlier report by the Inquisitr, Hulk Hogan was removed from the game. A statement was made when Hogan was removed from the gaming title.
“We are highly respectful of the way that our partners choose to run their business and manage our partnerships accordingly,” 2K said in a statement. “We can confirm that Hulk Hogan will not appear in WWE 2K16.”
The Terminator will add a new element to the game, as players will play as his Terminator skins. This goes back to WWE’s relationship with the new movie. Triple H had a Terminator-themed entrance at WrestleMania 31. Going back to the video game, WWE is pulling out all the stops for this year’s edition. Whenever WWE 2K goes to new heights to impress new gamers, nearly everything becomes impressive.
Last year’s game was a must-buy due to it’s new storyline mode featuring CM Punk, John Cena, Shawn Michaels and Triple H. Of course, DLC storylines game out the following months after the game. This year, a Stone Cold Steve Austin mode will come out, as well as new WWE superstars.
WWE.com came out with a select few WWE superstars’ character art from WWE 2K16. Fans are very excited to be playing as Stone Cold Steve Austin primarily, but it appears Finn Balor is stealing the show at this point. His character art is shown as him portraying the Demon. That nearly guarantees that his entrance will be just like his entrances at WWE NXT Takeover specials. Perhaps a “this is awesome” chant will be embedded in the game?
