Arsenal Transfer Rumors: Karim Benzema Still A Target For Arsene Wenger?
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is set to make a bid for Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema for the upcoming Premier League season. Benzema, 27-years-old, has been a target for the Arsenal manager since the start of the transfer window. However, his agent has rubbished such rumors and has maintained that the Frenchman will remain a Real Madrid player for the foreseeable future.
“Karim is very happy at Real Madrid and he will be a Real Madrid player by the end of this transfer window, 1,000 percent. Karim is not looking to move anywhere this summer.”
Upon hearing Benzema’s agent comments, Arsene Wenger made a sly joke about the situation.
Arsenal ready to increase the offer for Karim Benzema; £35.3m! And Real Madrid are open to selling for the right price.

Despite Arsenal’s interest in Karim Benzema, Theo Walcott is said to be close to signing a contract extension at the club. Walcott has been a peripheral figure for Arsenal due to injuries. However, when fit he has shown that he could grab the first team center forward position.
Great to be back at Emirates today – another trophy & excited for the season ahead!! #coyg https://t.co/DBnlGLMyDE

Arsenal will start this season facing Premier League champions Chelsea at Wembley in the Community Shield. Arsenal has been in fine form during their pre-season, winning two trophies in succession while preparing for the upcoming season. Wenger praised 17 year old Reine-Adelaide after his performance against Wolfsburg.
“Reine-Adelaide is something special you know. He is a great talent and when he came on you could see that — 17 years old let’s not forget that. In fact I don’t remember how I played at 17 but I didn’t play like that!”
Should Arsenal chase the signature of Karim Benzema?
