Kelly Price Divorce From Manager Jeffrey Rolle After 23 Years: R&B Star Sings Divorce In Next Album [Video]
Kelly Price firmed up her divorce details as the R&B star prepared to end her 23-year-long marriage with Jeffrey Rolle. Kelly and Rolle have two children, reported UPI.
Price’s divorce will also mean that the 42-year-old will need to find a new manager because Jeffrey doubled in that role. Now 42, Kelly has been with Jeffrey since she was 19-years-old.
Price explained that she decided on the divorce following her sister’s sudden death.
“After the untimely death of my sister last year, it weighed on me heavily that this was something we needed to do. I ultimately made the decision to live the best life I can. I ended things because I didn’t want to compromise what true happiness was anymore.”
However, Kelly added that she has no anger or resentment toward Rolle.
“[There are] no hard feelings,” said Price of the divorce decision. “[l will] love Jeff until the day [she dies].”
Their children are now young adults: Jeffrey Rolle Jr. is 23, and daughter Jonia Rolle is 21.
Kelly has been nominated for a Grammy Award seven times and collaborated with Eric Clapton, Jermaine Dupri, and LL Cool J. Price unveiled Sing Pray Love, Vol. 1: Sing in June 2014.
Now that Kelly has firmed up the plans of the split, Price revealed that she will feature the divorce in the lyrics of her next album, Sing Pray Love, Vol. 2: Pray, reported AlwaysAList.
The album will be released in 2016 from eOne Nashville.
Rolle provides art direction and photography in addition to managing artists such as Kelly. He did not offer any comments about Price’s divorce revelation.
Kelly is famed for singing “Friend of Mine,” “You Should’ve Told Me,” “It’s My Time,” and “As We Lay.”
Kelly’s career highlights include a Christmas album, Gospel music, and five R&B albums. In addition, Price appeared during Season 1 of R&B Divas: Los Angeles.
And she isn’t the only high-profile celebrity to announce divorce plans in 2015. As the Inquisitr reported, Lara Spencer has divorced David Haffenreffer after their 15-year marriage went from romance to rubbish. The 46-year-old Good Morning America (GMA) co-host said goodbye, David, in terms of their marital vows, but emphasized that they remain friends.
Initially a CNN journalist when they met, Haffenreffer has become a real estate broker. The 47-year-old and Lara have two children. Kate is 10 while Duff is 3-years-old. And both Haffenreffer and Spencer emphasized that despite the divorce, they plan to focus on their kids.
