Just after his arrest, Stamos checked into a residential treatment facility to seek help for substance abuse. He seemed upbeat when he posted a statement.
“Thanks to everyone for their love & support,” the star of Fox’s upcoming sitcom Grandfathered tweeted the next day. “I’m home & well. Very appreciative of the BHPD & Cedars for their care.”
Back in 2007, Stamos made headlines after what seemed like a boozy appearance on Australian morning television. He attributed that to a combination of Ambien and jet lag.
“By the time I got to Australia, my body was so out of whack,” he told TV Guide about his ill-fated interview, adding that he “took a sleeping pill at five in the morning, Ambien. I did not know what continent I was on.”
“I was not drinking,” Stamos said. “I did not drink either morning. I do not have an alcohol problem…This is not a pattern.”
