Jennifer Aniston Making News For All The Right Reasons: Upcoming Movies With Julia Roberts And Fiance Justin Theroux
Jennifer Aniston has been in the news of late, and she’ll continue to be as she is set to appear in three upcoming films.
Jennifer Aniston’s next film coming to theaters is She’s Funny That Way, a romantic comedy with Owen Wilson set for release on August 14. According to IMDb, in the film, Wilson plays theater director Arnold Albertson, who is casting a new play with includes call girl Isabella Patterson (Imogen Poots), Albertson’s wife Delta (Kathryn Hahn), and Delta’s ex-lover Seth Gilbert (Rhys Ifans).
Jennifer Aniston plays the part of Jane, who is Patterson’s therapist in the movie. Jane has her own problems with relationships as she is intertwined with Albertson’s playwright Joshua Fleet, played by actor Will Forte.
Following She’s Funny That Way, Jennifer Aniston isn’t set to appear in any feature films again until 2016, when she has a pair of movies already announced. Both movies are currently in the pre-production stage.
One of the two movies slated for a 2016 release date is Mother’s Day. This movie, being directed by Valentine’s Day and New Year’s Eve director Garry Marshall, will include an ensemble cast of top talent. Like his previous movies, Marshall is planning a feature film based around a holiday with interconnected stories tied to the themed celebratory day. As Coming Soon announced, Julia Roberts, Jason Sudeikis, and Kate Hudson have all signed on to appear in the film with Jennifer Aniston.
The second 2016 movie Jennifer Aniston is connected to is Mean Moms. IMBb reports that Jennifer Aniston as the only actress signed on to the project. In it, Aniston will play a mother of two children who moves from a small town into a high-class suburb. Akin to the plot behind Mean Girls, Aniston will be confronting competitive parents who want to show her up throughout the movie. Sean Anders, who directed Aniston in previous hits We’re The Millers and Horrible Bosses 2, is signed on to direct this movie.
Jennifer Aniston has a full calendar ahead of her, but she’s not stopping there. Jennifer Aniston also has several projects lined up which will have her behind the camera rather than in front of it. As the Huffington Post mentioned, Jennifer Aniston is set to be a producer on three upcoming movie projects, including Counter Clockwise, Pumas, and The Goree Girls. The Goree Girls project is one that Aniston has been linked to for nearly four years now, first as an actress for the movie that depicts an all-female country music band formed in the 1940s while the girls were in prison. Jennifer Aniston described the band as “sort of the Dixie Chicks of their time” amid rumors that she may sing in the new movie. Counter Clockwise also fits that mold, as Jennifer Aniston was once being considered as the lead role in a film about renowned Harvard University professor Ellen Langer.
Jennifer Aniston is also rumored to be considering a project with fiancé Justin Theroux. As Design & Trend reported, the project with Justin Theroux – who is known for writing, directing, and acting – could be behind the camera as easily as it could be in front of it.
With unfair and apparently unfounded allegations being leveled at Jennifer Aniston recently, it’s nice to know that she’s continuing to add to her already-impressive list of acting and behind-the-scenes roles. She is clearly set to stay in the news, but for all the right reasons.
