WWE News: Hulk Hogan Removed From WWE Website, ‘Tough Enough,’ And History Books

Overnight, the WWE hit a hailstorm of negative press following what took place with their top star in WWE history, Hulk Hogan. In an earlier report by the Inquisitr, a tape with Hulk Hogan on a podcast showcased the former-WWE champion using racial slurs. Hogan appeared on the Whollywood Podcast with DJ Whoo Kid in 2012. Here is the podcast.

There are WWE fans online who don’t believe this is the “racial tirade” the WWE heard to get rid of Hogan from everything they own. In fact, WWE is distancing themselves so much that he is getting what WWE fans call the “Chris Benoit treatment.” In Benoit’s case, he committed a federal crime. Hogan used words that aren’t accepted in today’s society. Then again, WWE is a public brand with a PG image.

For a comprehensive list of what the WWE got rid of that says Hulk Hogan, USA Today is reporting that nearly everything with the former WWE champion’s name is gone from its website.

“Hogan was no longer listed as a WWE alumni or hall of famer. Hulk Hogan merchandise was also gone and Hogan is also no longer listed as one of the judges on the WWE TV show Tough Enough. A general search of his name still yields highlights from his WWE career.”

The WWE has yet to release a statement, but Hulk Hogan put out a cryptic tweet that may have lead to his departure from WWE.

Now, in new information from SEScoops, they are reporting that this tape with the horrid racial slurs from Hulk Hogan was uncovered during the discovery period of his ongoing lawsuit with Gawker. The report goes on to say that the National Enquirer is the entity that went to WWE with the video.

With WWE not saying anything yet, that could mean they are still investigating the case. That, or they are waiting to make an official statement due to any other information pending. It will be very hard to completely write away Hulk Hogan from WWE history, which is a long-shot.

WWE’s public image took a small toll when this story went public. Hulk Hogan also won’t be revered for his brand, as well as his reputation. Like a professional company, the WWE responded in a quick manner and did what they need to do. Remember, WWE is the only ones who heard the “horrid” tape.

UPDATE: According to ABC News, the WWE confirmed to them that Hulk Hogan’s WWE contract was officially terminated.
