Brittney Griner Claims Ex-Wife, Glory Johnson, Had A Secret Beau — Slammed For Being Insecure
Turns out, more than one problem plagued the doomed 28-day marriage between WNBA stars Brittney Griner and Glory Johnson.
Griner now alleges that her ex-wife was texting a man during their courtship and eventual engagement, court documents filed earlier this month allege, according to People.
Naturally, those on Glory’s side of the story reject the allegations as nonsense. Her rep, D.J. Fisher, told The New York Daily News that her ex was just being insecure.
“(Glory is) popular and beautiful, so she’s going to have male friends.”
But according to Griner, they were more than friends. Apparently, she learned that her fiancée had been intimate with a man in the summer of 2014, which was around the time they started to date. But apparently, that liaison continued until possibly early April this year.
Also in April, the couple had a heated argument at their Arizona home and both were arrested for assault and disorderly conduct.
Brittney learned that her new wife had been texting this “male companion” just before she filed for an annulment, and has accused her ex of being “sexually and emotionally” involved with the anonymous beau at the same time she was “sexually and emotionally” involved with her. Brittney claims that she lied about the relationship from 2013 to July 2014. They were engaged in August.
Brittney said if she’d known about it, she wouldn’t have proposed and certainly wouldn’t have gotten married.
Griner has already spoken out to claim that she felt pressured into marriage by Johnson, and into having children before she was ready. She wanted to postpone the wedding in order to deal with their problems and complete the counseling required after their spat. But Glory allegedly insisted the wedding move forward.
She also allegedly insisted that the pair have kids right away; “ultimatums, demands and threats” compelled her to proceed with fertility treatments. The day after she announced she was pregnant — with twins, no less — Brittney filed for the annulment.
Meanwhile, Johnson wants $20,000 a month in temporary spousal support and $10,000 more for attorney fees. Because their union was so brief, Griner is contesting this request, In Touch Weekly reported.
