Donald Trump Is At The U.S.-Mexico Border
Donald Trump has recently suffered some serious consequences after having made inciteful statements about Mexican migrants living in the United States. The following is the transcript as reported by the Washington Post.
“The U.S. has become a dumping ground for everybody else’s problems. [Applause] Thank you. It’s true, and these are the best and the finest. When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”
Not wanting to be associated with the comment, various companies distanced themselves from Donald Trump, with some dropping his products.
Among the first companies to do this was Univision, which broadcasts the Miss USA pageant. The following is a statement from the provider, according to ABC News.
“We see first-hand the work ethic, love for family, strong religious values and the important role Mexican immigrants and Mexican-Americans have had and will continue to have in building the future of our country. We will not be airing the Miss USA pageant on July 12th or working on any other projects tied to the Trump Organization.”
Macy’s is another major company that reacted to Trump’s comments. This was the statement released by the company.
“In light of statements made by Donald Trump, which are inconsistent with Macy’s values, we have decided to discontinue our business relationship with Mr. Trump and will phase-out the Trump menswear collection, which has been sold at Macy’s since 2004.”
However, Trump responded by saying that it was, in fact, his decision to cut off ties with the company.
This is what he said.
“Clearly, NBC and Macy’s support illegal immigration, which is totally detrimental to the fabric of our once great country. Both Macy’s and NBC totally caved at the first sight of potential difficulty with special interest groups who are nothing more than professional agitators, who are not looking out for the people they purport to represent, but only for themselves. It is people like this that are actually running our country because our leaders are weak and ineffective.”
Not one to back down from his comments, Donald Trump yesterday flew to Laredo, Texas, which is located at the U.S.-Mexico border to offer a press conference on what he termed to be a “real problem.” This is what Donald Trump said during the event.
“We have a tremendous danger on the border with the illegals coming in… Border patrol is petrified of saying what’s happening, cause they have a real problem here.”
Donald Trump also said that he would squash Hillary Clinton’s ambitions as the Democrat’s frontrunner.
“Easily she’s the worst Secretary of State in the history of our country… She’s going to be beaten and I’m the one to beat her.”
