WWE Rumors: Daniel Bryan Cleared To Return To Ring By Doctor, But When Will He Be Back?
One of the most popular stars in the history of WWE has missed a lot of time over the past two years, and many have wondered if Daniel Bryan will ever wrestle again. There have been mixed reports over the past couple of months, but now there is a bit more solid information. Bryan has now been officially cleared by a doctor to return to the ring, but when will WWE allow him to wrestle again?
Bryan is currently on the shelf after giving up the Intercontinental Title a few months ago, his second title vacated in the past two years. He is a judge on Tough Enough and also making the media rounds to promote his upcoming book, Yes! My Improbable Journey to the Main Event of WrestleMania.
During this promotional journey, Bryan revealed that he’s been cleared by a doctor to return to the ring. The problem is that WWE’s doctors won’t give him the OK to wrestle.
“The whole problem with this process is getting cleared by the doctors. I’ve been cleared by one doctor in Phoenix, but the WWE doctor is hesitant to clear me. It’s a very complicated situation, that I guess they don’t really want me talking about.”
Due to the situation with CM Punk from last year, Bryan said that WWE handles injuries, especially concussions, very differently now. While WWE is looking out for Bryan’s health and what’s best for him, his frustration is understandable.
In just about a month, WWE will present SummerSlam, and rumor has it that the event will be stacked from top to bottom. Unfortunately, it looks as if Bryan won’t be on the card even though that was his hope.
“I don’t know. It’s kind of in the hands of certain doctors, as far as them clearing me and what not. My goal was to be back by SummerSlam, and that’s looking less and less likely, and so then you’re hoping to be back by Royal Rumble.”
Now, the interesting thing about that is Daniel Bryan going from August to January and skipping everything in between. Yes, he would want to make his return at one of the bigger PPVs of the year, but Survivor Series is still to come at the end of November.
Daniel Bryan was hoping to be back by SummerSlam, but it just really doesn’t look as if that is going to happen. If one doctor has cleared him for in-ring action, it’s very possible that he could be back sometime before the end of the year, but the Royal Rumble could be the big surprise.
