BethesdaNet, The Platform That Will Deliver ‘Fallout 4’ Mods To Consoles, Officially Launches

After revealing to the world that Fallout 4 will be launching on current-gen platforms this holiday season, Bethesda surprisingly announced their plans to give console gamers access to use player-created mods. Prior to Fallout 4, only PC gamers have been able to enjoy mods in Bethesda titles.

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Fallout 4 game Director Todd Howard revealed that Bethesda will be setting up their own connected network that will integrate all of their titles with other online resources. Using this system is how the developer plans to make mods easily available across all platforms since the network will be centrally connected.

Well ahead of the scheduled November release for Fallout 4, the studio is getting that platform ready to go live with the official launch of BethesdaNet today. In addition providing upcoming game support, such as bringing Fallout 4 mods to console gamers, BethesdaNet will also serve as a central location for fans to find the newest news and details on all Bethesda projects.

“BethesdaNet is, in part, exactly what you see: a central place for all the latest news and info about all our games. But what you see today is only a glimpse of what you’ll be getting. We’ll be producing exclusive features – both video and written – to give you the all the info you crave, direct from the source. We’ll give you in-depth insights and exclusive access to our developers and the games they’re making.”

The connected network will also give gamers a new place to talk about Bethesda games as the platform will be the new home for the developer’s official community forums in the future. This is where fans can come to talk about all of the studios’ titles like Fallout 4. Hoping to make BethesdaNet the only place that players need to visit, the forums will be directly tied to Bethesda’s customer support.

“BethesdaNet will also become the hub of our active and vibrant communities. Soon enough we’ll start rolling out all-new forums, where you’ll be able to chat with each other and with our worldwide community team. Our global community lead Matt Grandstaff gave me a sneak peek of these forums and, well, suffice to say they’re stuffed with some really cool features that we can’t wait to unveil to you!”

Alongside the launch of their new network, Bethesda wanted to give players an idea of the kind of exclusive content that they plan to reveal on BethesdaNet. To that end, the developer shared a new discussion with Todd Howard. The Fallout 4 director revealed that his team strives to build a world with more dynamic details that load quicker to create greater immersion. The environmental design of Fallout 4 will use these details and visual cues to help tell a story

Are you a traditional console gamer who is looking forward to finally being able to try out mods in Fallout 4?
