In an exclusive interview with Entertainment Tonight , ex- RHOBH star Kim Richards talks about the night of her arrest, and puts some spin on why she left rehab early. She told Nischelle Turner that what happened on the night of her arrest was a difference of opinion, but that she was happy, in it allowed her to take a break and go to rehab.
As reported earlier this week in the Inquisitr , Kim Richards has many excuses for why she reportedly left rehab early, but a statement from a source at the rehab facility said that the ex- RHOBH star wasn’t cooperative.
“Kim has not been participating in the group activities here. She has not been especially nice to the other patients and has managed to seclude herself as much as possible.”

“She has not been especially nice to the other patients and has managed to seclude herself as much as possible.”
As for her arrest , Richards chalks it up to a big misunderstanding, as she was leaving and needed to use the restroom, but the Beverly Hills Hotel says she was drunk, belligerent, and slurring her words, and when confronted by security, she locked herself in the restroom, refusing to come out when police arrived. Then, after arriving at the police station, she kicked an officer and was charged with assault.
Richards said the arrest was her “aha moment,” as it gave her an excuse to go to rehab and get some needed rest.
According to official documents , Richards was “unlawfully in a public place under the influence of intoxicating liquor, a drug, a controlled substance, toluene … in such a condition that [she] was unable to exercise care for [her] own safety and the safety of others.” Toluene is a liquid chemical found in solvents and paint thinners.
As for why Kim Richards left rehab after one month when the plea agreement requires three months, Richards has a long list of excuses, and says she left because she got so much work done in so little time.
“I went in and I got to learn a whole lot about myself,” she told Turner. “I dug deep into my past, things that happened to me as a child, good and bad, teenage years, relationships with all my loved ones, where they need to be mended, where they’re very powerful. I worked on me.”
She listed her son’s mental illness, her dying ex-husband, and her cold relationship with her sister Kyle Richards as to reasons she relapsed into addiction. She also told Entertainment Tonight that having to give away her dog also pushed her over the edge.
Do you think Kim Richards can stay sober when she is still blaming others for her arrest?
