‘Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2’ Trailer Teases Intense Conflict As Final Premiere Date Draws Closer [Video]
A new Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 trailer is out, and fans are excitedly checking it out. The upcoming film wraps up the series and, while those who have read the books may know what’s coming, everybody is still counting down the days until they can see it on the big screen. What does this new trailer tease?
The movie’s Facebook page shared the new Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 trailer. The clip teases that the “epic conclusion” to the “global phenomenon” is on the way, and it does tease the intense drama ahead. All of the key players are back, and there are bigger special effects than ever before.
Will the movie follow the key components of the final book, especially at the end? Though there have been some departures from the book series along the way when it comes to the movies, most would imagine that the final storyline plots, no matter how difficult, will ultimately remain in place.
As ABC News teases, the Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 clip shows scenes with the 13 districts working together to conquer the Capitol, and the battle will be brutal and deadly. The intensity between President Snow and Katniss Everdeen continues, and fans know that neither is willing to back down in this fierce battle.
Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson, Woody Harrelson, Donald Sutherland, Julianne Moore, Elizabeth Banks, and Philip Seymour Hoffman are all back in this one. Unfortunately, as fans know, Hoffman died during the filming of these final two offerings of the franchise.
Those with the franchise kept his already-filmed scenes in the role of Plutarch Heavensbee in the movie, but there will be some slight alterations in the story to accommodate Hoffman’s passing. Yahoo! Movies shared that when Hoffman died, there were two key scenes yet to be filmed that involved him. In addition, a number of other scenes were supposed to have him in the mix in less substantial ways.
Those scenes involving Hoffman were rewritten to work around the challenge. Director Francis Lawrence said that no digital manipulation was used to make it seem that Hoffman was in scenes he hadn’t been able to film.
People are already buzzing about the special effects and wild components incorporated into this Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 trailer. Katniss, Peeta Mellark, and Gale Hawthorne are prepared to do battle, and they’ve got legions of warriors standing by them. However, those protecting the Capitol are willing to do whatever it takes to stop them.
Katniss and her team feel they have just one shot to take control, and they’re up against immense difficulties. Who will win in the end? Who will perish along the way? Fans will find out when Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 debuts in theaters on November 20 in the final film of the franchise.
