Brittney Griner Claims Glory Johnson Cheated On Her With Ex-Boy Friend In New Court Documents
WNBA star Brittney Griner claims she discovered her wife Glory Johnson was still texting an ex-boyfriend in early April, just weeks before their wedding and the same month both Johnson and Griner were arrested for domestic violence, according to court documents obtained and released to the public by TMZ.
A few weeks later, Griner and Johnson appeared to have made up saying their “I do’s” upon a mountaintop in Phoenix. An unwelcome wedding gift from the WNBA came to Griner and Johnson shortly after the wedding in the form of a seven game suspension for both players. Griner pled guilty to a lesser charge in the court of law, entering a diversion program. Johnson continues to plead not guilty as she contends Griner was the instigator.
Twenty seven days into the marriage of Brittney Griner and Glory Johnson, Johnson took to social media to announce her pregnant. On the twenty eighth day, Griner filed for an annulment stating she married Johnson under “fraud and duress” and that the marriage should have never happened. Griner also contended that she wasn’t aware of Johnson’s plans to become pregnant. Shortly after the break up, Johnson announced she was carrying twins.
And just when you thought the WNBA’s favorite soap opera couldn’t get any stranger, Glory Johnson filed a counter-suit earlier this month requesting that Brittney Griner pay her a cool twenty thousand dollars a month in spousal support because she was unable to play this season due to her pregnancy and had spent most of her existing funds on furnishing the couple’s residence and their wedding.
The new court documents filed by Griner discuss not only Johnson’s continued text relationship with her ex-boyfriend but the fact that Griner had learned Johnson was still sleeping with a man in the summer of 2014, the early part of their relationship. Griner contends that had she had knowledge of the sexual relationship or the continued relationship with an old flame, she would’ve never asked Johnson to marry her in the first place.
Perhaps the couple should’ve known they were doomed from the beginning. In an interview with the New York Times earlier this year, Johnson had stated she wasn’t a lesbian but found herself attracted to Griner. “I’m not a lesbian, but Brittney is different,” Johnson continued,”I still don’t really feel like I’m attracted to females in general. It’s just that I’m attracted to just one person.”
And this was no surprise to Griner who stated in a separate interview, “Glory is straight. That’s another reason I thought this could end really bad.”
