Although their on-screen chemistry was great during Fifty Shades of Grey , stars Jamie Dornan (Christian Grey) and Dakota Johnson (Anastasia Steele) are not dating in real life. In fact, in an interview with the Belfast Telegraph , Dornan addressed the issue and stated that he is in love with only one woman, his wife, Amelia Warner.
“I was smitten from the start, I really was… I’m more in love with her today than I was at the start, so no,” he added regarding the rumors that he was cheating on his wife with Johnson.
The rumors first surfaced after reports that Warner disliked the sex scenes that were included in the movie between Dornan and Johnson. However, Dornan stated that his wife backs up his career, and hasn’t wavered in her support, even after his rise to celebrity status. He also added that he believes his wife is perfect in every way.
At the same time, both Dornan and Johnson are set to reprise their respective roles in the upcoming sequel, Fifty Shades Darker . The sequel is expected to be a little darker in tone and more explicit in its eroticism, so it is sure to test just how supportive Dornan’s wife is of her husband’s career.
However, it should also be noted that Johnson is currently in a relationship with Matthew Hitt. With both stars in a committed relationship, nothing is likely to occur between them anytime soon.
Meanwhile, with the premiere for Fifty Shades Darker still a ways off, casting rumors are beginning to circulate once more. Two of the biggest casting stories center on Henry Cavill and Charlize Theron possibly making an appearance in the movie.
While Movie News Guide has reported that Cavill is in line to play Anastasia’s boss, Jack Hyde, in the new movie, Cavill has remained elusive in his comments.
“Basically what I can say is I can’t say anything about it right now,” the Superman actor explained to E! News when asked about starring in the new film.
For her part, Theron is believed to be up for the role as Elena Lincoln. Lincoln is an old friend of Grey who first taught him the ways of S&M. Like Cavill, Theron wasn’t able to elaborate on the rumors.
“I hadn’t heard that one,” she told E! News during a red carpet event. “Wow, I’m just learning so much about myself on this carpet tonight.”
Fifty Shades Darker is set to hit theaters on February 10, 2017.
