Is Young Thug Hip Hop’s Most Fashionable Man?
Young Thug wears attire that catches you off guard whenever he steps outside. Whether at shows or interviews, Young Thug’s reputation as the most stylish one in the room is undeniable.
He has an uncanny fashion sense and is almost more daring in the dressing room as he is on the microphone. Whatever Young Thug wears just seems to work. There have been numerous examples of this on the Rodeo Tour with Travis Scott.

Fader described how Young Thug used each tour date as a demonstration of high fashion.
“He made it a point every night to change clothes. The fashion and his style was definitely something that stood out. He performed in long johns one time, and the poncho. One end of the spectrum he’s wearing Hooters tank tops, then on the other end he would come out in the new Yeezys or the Red Octobers, stuff which caught people like, ‘Oh wow, this guy can dress.’ That’s something I’ve seen since the beginning with Thug. No matter how people try to make fun of it, he’s so confident in his skin he can literally wear anything and make you a believer. He made it cool to wear whatever and no one questions it. They love it.”
And this is just after Thug’s first tour. As he matures as an artist and his fashion sense evolves with it, we can look forward to many years of crazy, weird songs, accompanied by fashion just as daring.
Young Thug also set the trend of the hip hop poncho. Of course, Young Thug’s poncho is no ordinary poncho. He wore a custom, luxuriant alpaca poncho with red reflective 3M material. It complimented the theme of the Rodeo Tour and Thug’s own music. Others in hip hop were inspired to wear their own poncho fashions.
In another story, the Fader spoke with the designers of that influential outfit. They were surprised and ecstatic at how it was embraced both by Young Thug and the public.
“Thug is a trendsetter. Recently, my girlfriend went to the Chris Brown and Trey Songz show and Chris was wearing a poncho. Even Future got the poncho idea from us! When he saw Thug out there, he must’ve said to himself, ‘Yo, I’m going down to SXSW in Texas, I need to rock a poncho too!’ But there are no red 3M ponchos anywhere; its one-of-one in the universe, which speaks to who Thug is. Thug is a creative genius. He is the Prince of our time.”
