WWE Rumors: Big Update On WWE’s Plans For Sting At ‘SummerSlam’ And When He Will Return To TV
Everyone was expecting Sting to show up last night on Monday Night RAW, and begin his program leading up to a match at SummerSlam. Well, it was a stacked night that included brawls and a whole lot more, but “The Vigilante” was nowhere to be found. Now, WWE seems to be keeping Sting’s return up in the air, but plans for him appear to be set in stone.
According to WrestleZone, Sting didn’t show up last night on RAW for a couple of reasons. First of all, the show was packed from beginning to finish with The Undertaker, Brock Lesnar, John Cena, Seth Rollins, Cesaro, and many others. Adding Sting into the mix wouldn’t have made his return as special and focused on.
That’s another reason that the WWE waited to bring Sting back. They want his return to be a huge surprise, and many outlets were reporting that he would be back last night. WWE not bringing him out made everyone realize they have no real idea when he’ll show up.
Adding even more doubt to Sting’s return is his noticeable absence from the first SummerSlam poster released.
With that, WWE is trying to cast doubt into Sting’s return, and they are hoping to give as little away as possible about when he will appear on TV again. It’s now expected that he will be brought back late in August, and right before SummerSlam.
Now, the plans for Sting are still staying the same, as WWE appears to be going through with the team of Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose against a newly reunited Wyatt Family. With Bray Wyatt reuniting with Luke Harper, he has indeed revealed that the “family is back.”
This feud is where Sting is expected to be added into once he returns. He would side with Ambrose and Reigns, and many believe this would also help Reigns not get booed as loudly in Brooklyn.
One thing to consider, though, is that Erick Rowan is still going to be out a few months longer with an injury. That leaves the Wyatt Family without a third member, and it is highly expected they add one more, and the rumors still point at that being Wyatt’s real-life brother, Bo Dallas.
This works out well, but it actually works out a lot better than anyone realizes. After WrestleMania 31, there was a moment on the WWE Network where Sting was being interviewed and then got interrupted by Bo Dallas. In return for his interruption, Sting delivered a Scorpion Death Drop to the Bo-Liever.
While that was a few months ago, it’s obvious that there are moments that time doesn’t really let one forget. The Undertaker is living proof of that, since he’s going after Brock Lesnar after breaking his streak more than a year ago.
Sting is going to be back, and he will be in a match at SummerSlam, but WWE really wants his return to be a big-time surprise. He’s expected to join forces with two former members of The Shield and take on the reunited Wyatt Family and a third member.
