Josh Duggar Ditches Anna Duggar To Attend Baseball Game Shortly After Baby’s Birth
Josh Duggar didn’t stick around the house for long after Anna Duggar gave birth to their fourth child — he had a baseball game to get to.
According to the Duggar Family News: Life Is Not All Pickles and Hairspray Facebook page, Josh Duggar was photographed at a minor league baseball game mere hours after Meredith Grace Duggar was born. Duggar family friend Joe Donaldson shared the photo below that shows Josh enjoying himself at the Arvest Ballpark in Springdale, Arkansas on Sunday. He was there to watch the Northwest Arkansas Naturals play ball, and he was joined by sisters Jinger, Joy, and Jana Duggar. His sons, Marcus and Michael, are both with him. However, his daughter Mackynzie isn’t in the photo below.
Anna Duggar was at home resting up after giving birth to baby Meredith, so it appears as though Jana Duggar played stand-in mom by carrying Marcus.
Pickles and Hairspray shared a second photo of Duggar family party planner Sierra Dominguez holding baby Meredith while wearing the same pink shirt that she’s wearing in the photo above (she’s the heavily pregnant blonde on the far right). This is evidence that the baseball park photo was taken on the same day as Meredith’s birth.
Some critics of the Duggar family are outraged that Josh ditched his wife and newborn to go have fun with friends so soon after his fourth child’s arrival.
“I’m sorry but a real man, good husband doesn’t leave you hours after giving birth for ANYTHING!” Facebook commenter Kelly Hansen wrote. “Who cares if it was pre planned, you take the money loss or offer your tickets to a friend and you take care of your wife who just drained every ounce of energy and strength from her body to give birth to YOUR child.”
Pickles and Hairspray commenter Catherine Wynne has conflicted feelings about Josh Duggar enjoying an outing while his wife is recovering from giving birth.
“It is irresponsible, disrespectful and selfish behavior..but wait. It’s Duggar behavior! Well, at least it gave him less time to play doctor with the baby!”
Another commenter also expressed her belief that Josh leaving was a positive thing. However, her reason had nothing to do with his confession that he sexually molested his sisters.
“Am I the only one that would appreciate the time away from my significant other right after giving birth?” Morgan C. Willis wrote. “I’d use that time to get baby to nurse and bond without interruption.”
According to Hollywood Life, Josh Duggar was the member of the Duggar family who first announced Meredith Grace’s arrival on Sunday. The baby girl weighed 7 lbs., 14 oz. and was 20.5 inches long. As the Inquisitr previously reported, there’s a possibility that she was named after talk show host Meredith Vieira.

Josh didn’t reveal further details about the delivery, like whether Meredith was born via C-section and if there were any complications. Fans of the Duggar family used to know everything about each Duggar child’s birth because they were all filmed for 19 Kids and Counting. However, Meredith is Josh and Anna’s first child who wasn’t born in front of a TLC camera crew — 19 Kids and Counting was recently cancelled.
Do you think it was wrong for Josh Duggar to attend a baseball game while his wife stayed at home to bond with their baby?
