WWE News: Official Poster For ‘SummerSlam’ Released And A Few Big Stars Are Missing From It
Before Battleground even ended last night, WWE was already setting up SummerSlam for the fans. The first big match is obviously going to be The Undertaker against Brock Lesnar, but there are many more who will be on the card. The first poster for the next month’s event has been released, and there are many featured on it, but a few big-name stars are noticeably absent.
WWE officially released the poster on Monday, but work has been done on the posters for some time now. One of the images going around is not the full-sized SummerSlam poster that WWE released, and it showcases a few other superstars on either side.
As you can see, on the left-hand side are Ryback, Charlotte, and Randy Orton. In the middle is Brock Lesnar, Paige, Seth Rollins, Dolph Ziggler, Lana, John Cena, Bray Wyatt, Roman Reigns, and The Undertaker. Finally, on the right-hand side is Sheamus, Sasha Banks, and Dean Ambrose.
Already, the NXT revolution divas are taking over as two of the four women just debuted on the main roster a week ago. Oddly enough, the Divas Champion isn’t even around as Nikki Bellas is nowhere to be seen.
While it’s a cool poster, many fans are already concerned with some of those that are obviously absent from the shot. As WrestleZone pointed out, Sting is nowhere to be found, but Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer says he is featured on other yet-to-be-released promotional material.
Sting is rumored to return to Monday Night Raw tonight or next week, and he could get involved in one of two programs. One rumor has Sting taking on Seth Rollins for the WWE Title, and the other is him teaming up with Roman Reigns to take on the Wyatt Family.

Another name missing is Kevin Owens. What Culture is wondering if Owens will be in a match at SummerSlam since he’ll take on Finn Balor for the NXT Title at NXT Takeover Brooklyn on the night before.
It would be odd to see Owens just totally absent from one of WWE’s biggest Pay-Per-Views every single year, especially after being such a huge part of the main roster the past three months. More will be known by Raw tonight and if Owens continues on with John Cena or gets another program started.
No matter what the rest of the card looks like, it is already expected that The Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar will main event SummerSlam.
The release of the SummerSlam poster has even more rumors starting up, and maybe the absence of Sting has WWE wanting to keep at least one thing a partial surprise. A lot more will be known by the end of Monday Night Raw this evening, and the build for the PPV continues.
