The two had at times mocked the rumors, but it looks like there were, indeed, problems in paradise.
GossipCop shares that the Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton divorce proceedings began several weeks ago, though the news flew under the radar until now. The two reportedly signed a prenuptial agreement before their wedding, so the proceedings have been simple, and a judge is said to be expected to sign off on the divorce on Monday.
According to TMZ , all of the financial arrangements related to Miranda and Blake’s divorce was quickly worked out due to the prenup, and the divorce was filed in Oklahoma. Sources indicate that Shelton will get the ranch they own in Tisomingo, Oklahoma. Lambert will get the home in Nashville, Tennessee.
After many denials that there were any problems in their marriage, Blake and Miranda’s statement confirms that they are divorcing. The pair indicates that they are moving forward separately with heavy hearts, and that this isn’t the future they envisioned.
Blake and Miranda’s statement adds that they are real people with real friends, families, lives, and colleagues, and they ask for both compassion and privacy now that they’ve confirmed that they are divorcing. Over the years, the couple faced a lot of rumors about their relationship, with a lot of talk that his drinking was causing discord.
Despite all the rumors, not long ago, Lambert was openly talking about building a new house in Nashville with Shelton. She talked about incorporating plenty of room for the couple’s many animals, and it’s clear that it’s a home that Miranda treasures. Sources indicate that she’s been working on moving many of her beloved show animals from Oklahoma to the Nashville home in the wake of the split.
Shelton and Lambert fell for one another after performing in the “CMT 100 Greatest Duets Concert” in 2005. Though Blake was married at the time to high school sweetheart Kaynette Gern, he’s admitted in the years since then that he fell head-over-heels for Miranda immediately. He married Gern in 2003, and they divorced in 2006, then Blake married Miranda in 2011.
Fans are definitely disappointed to hear that Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert are divorcing, as many had hoped that the rumors of trouble were inaccurate. Blake and Miranda’s statement does not go into specifics about the reasons for the split and, from the sounds of things, neither Shelton nor Lambert will be dishing out any additional details.
