Simon Cowell Tells Louis Tomlinson To ‘Man Up’ After Baby News
Simon Cowell was delighted for One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson upon hearing that he was going to be a father. That said, he still had some advice to impart on the singer, and he didn’t mince his words, either.
Cowell was interviewed by the Sun about One Direction, and that’s when he revealed the conversation he had with Louis about his impending fatherhood. “I said to him, ‘You man up. You’re fortunate because you’re in a position to be able to look after the baby and not worry too much about that. but I also told him, ‘I’ve received bad calls in my life but this is not one of them. This is your business but I’m here for you.’ ”
Since the news broke that his good friend, Briana Jungwirth, was expecting his child, Louis Tomlinson has kept a low profile, and hasn’t really opened up about the news. So, with that said, most of it has landed on Cowell’s shoulders, who has been a mentor to One Direction since he put them together on the UK’s X Factor. Of the hysteria surrounding the news, Cowell said, “He didn’t kill anyone. He got someone pregnant. It happens every day all over the world. Again, Louis has got great family around him and, look, it’s a plus, not a negative.”
As the Inquisitr reported, Cowell has been very supportive of Louis since the pop star called him up weeks ago to tell him about the surprising news. According to a source, “Simon was one of the first people Louis called after he’d told his family. Louis was so excited and he wanted to tell Simon himself.”
The source continued, “Simon was absolutely delighted for Louis and told him that becoming a dad was the best thing that had ever happened to him. He told him if he ever needed any advice to let him know.”
That said, the Inquisitr points out that the singer might not be up for fatherhood, and that history may repeat itself. It’s said that Tomlinson didn’t grow up with a father figure, and since Louis has no plans to take his relationship with Briana to the next level, he’s might not be committed to being a good father.
Keep in mind, plenty of people grow up without fathers and still manage to be excellent father figures. Tomlinson’s “friends with benefits”-turned-“mother of his child” is surely not the first of its kind,
and if he were to propose solely because she’s carrying his child, that might cause a whirlwind of personal problems. In fact, it’s probably a positive thing that he has Cowell in his life, as he seems like he’s willing to give sound advice to Tomlinson.
