Chris Harrison Says Ian ‘Will Surprise People’ On The ‘Bachelorette: Men Tell All’ And He Still Doesn’t Get Clint And J.J.
Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe’s suitors get their chance to hash out the season during Monday night’s special, The Men Tell All. Host Chris Harrison dished to TV Guide about what viewers can expect when the contestants review the controversial program.
Harrison said the show answers many questions, and one person, Ian Thomson “will surprise people.” Harrison declined to give further details, but Zap2It revealed that Thomson gets down on his knees to ask for forgiveness from Kaitlyn and the other men.
Bachelorette fans will remember Ian left the program in week 5 after calling Kaitlyn “shallow” and a “surface level person.” He criticized the other men for making “fart jokes.” Thomson also went on to promote his education and status to the cameras, stating that he would make a great Bachelor.
Thomson’s public profile on LinkedIn lists him as a senior associate at an executive recruitment firm.
Ian’s exit was so dramatic it was even parodied on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The dialogue from his conversation with Kaitlyn was read by two members of the show’s band before the real Ms. Bristowe emerged to compliment their performances and offer them roses.
In addition to Ian’s attempt to make amends, viewers will learn more about the infamous bromance between Clint Arlis and J.J. Lane. Although ABC called them “Brokeback Bachelors” in several promos, the men insist they are just good friends.
Harrison told TV Guide he’s still confused by the Clint and J.J. situation.
“Clint just seems angry with the world and I think when people are uncomfortable with who they are, it radiates around them. So it was awkward and I still don’t get [what happened] with Clint and J.J.”
Lane is interviewed on The Men Tell All and insists Bristowe was the men’s main focus.
“As it relates to Clint and I, say what you want, but a large part of what we talked about was Kaitlyn.”
Lane lasted longer than Arlis on The Bachelorette. Bristowe later joked on Twitter that having Clint and J.J. on a date would have been the “ultimate 2-on-1.”
As previously reported by The Inquisitr, the Men Tell All special also covers the social media hatred directed at Bristowe. Kaitlyn broke down when the men stood up in solidarity with her.
Kaitlyn’s final two are Shawn Booth and Nick Viall.
The Bachelorette: Men Tell All airs Monday night on ABC. This season of The Bachelorette wraps up July 27.
