WWE Rumors: Possible Card For ‘SummerSlam’ Changes Drastically With Return Of The Undertaker — Rumored Matches For Sting, Seth Rollins, More

The rumors had The Undertaker officially returning on Monday Night Raw, but he showed up early and stopped Brock Lesnar from winning the WWE Title at Battleground. Once the “Dead Man” showed up in the ring, it left the title belt around the waist of Seth Rollins, and drastically changed the rumored card for SummerSlam. There are expected matches for Sting, Seth Rollins, and many more so let’s check out the whirlwind talk.

Obviously, WWE is hard-selling SummerSlam as a huge event this year and they are making it just that. The return of The Undertaker at Battleground makes him more than a once-a-year trick pony and will draw in a huge viewership.

The announcers on Sunday night were selling it as revenge for ending his perfect streak back at WrestleMania XXX. Not only did Taker return, but he completely decimated Lesnar and left him laying out cold in the ring.

WWE is smart here as they are pitting Lesnar against the only person in WWE that could get some of the fans or even half of them to cheer someone else. Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar makes for a great story and an awesome first SummerSlam match.

Now, the other big name rumored (and confirmed) to return is Sting, and he should be back tomorrow on Raw or next week at the latest. Expect him back tomorrow to start a program with someone so he can have a SummerSlam match as well.

One rumor floating around is that Sting could challenge Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Title. It would give Sting his first and possibly only ever shot at winning the WWE Title.

This is strictly rumor, but it makes sense. Rollins is without a feud since Lesnar is tied up now, and Sting could really make for an interesting twist once the champ comes out very cocky on Raw tomorrow night.

It wouldn’t be surprising to even see Sting win his first (again, and only) ever WWE Title and hold onto it for a short period of time. Consider it a parting gift from Triple H and a way of showing appreciation for finally heading to WWE.

A number of other matches are already being rumored for the event including:

• The Wyatt Family (Bray Wyatt/Luke Harper) vs. Roman Reigns/Dean Ambrose
• WWE Tag Titles: The Prime Time Players vs. The New Day
• Intercontinental Title: Ryback vs. Big Show
• Triple-Threat Divas Tag Match: Team BAD vs. Team Paige vs. Team Bella or Charlotte vs. Nikki Bella for Divas Title

None of these matches are set in stone and all are simply speculation at this time. There are lots of rumors flying around about SummerSlam, and one even includes Kane returning as the “Big Red Machine” and going after Seth Rollins for revenge and maybe helping Sting win the title.

It’s going to be an interesting month leading up to SummerSlam, and one that will build a lot of interest toward WWE’s next pay-per-view. The return of The Undertaker and his upcoming feud with Brock Lesnar is making for exciting times in WWE and including Sting, Bray Wyatt, Seth Rollins, and more will make it even better.
